What does “learning through play” mean?
Teachers plan and set up intentional PLAY activities, children explore these learning opportunities, so that they can further develop or enhance their skills in variety of domains.
Like turn taking, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, STEM, thinking and reasoning, language, and many more.
And of course, having FUN.

We’d love to welcome babies, parents, caregivers and whānau to our Stay & Play Mornings in our Fern Room at Fun Place Childcare Rosedale!

Come and explore our centre, meet our wonderful teachers, discover our learning environment and enjoy some relaxed, fun playtime together. It’s a lovely opportunity to get to know us and see what makes Fun Place such a special place for tamariki. 💜

Today, our little tamariki had lots of fun making chocolate chip cookies for Daffodil Day! The children got involved with measuring, pouring and mixing the ingredients together. They loved helping to add the chocolate chips into the cookies. There were lots of smiles and excitement as the delicious smell filled the room.

Our cookies are being made as a fundraiser for Daffodil Day, with the option for our families to purchase them to help support this special cause. It was lovely to see the children being involved in something that not only gave them a fun baking experience but also helped them to learn about kindness, caring for others and giving back to our community.

In the Pohutukawa class at Fun Place Rosedale mathematical competencies are explored in many different ways. All research suggests that rich, hands on experiences with intentioned Kaiako is the best way for children to learn and develop.

We are on the look out for a dedicated preschool qualified teacher to join our team.
You need to be a passionate Kaiako that loves building positive, caring relationships with tamariki and whanau, seeing children as competent and confident individuals, seeing yourself as a professional facilitator that encourage children to develop and thrive.
