On this International Women's Day, we celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience of women everywhere — including those whose voices are often unheard and whose lives are pushed to the margins.
is inspired by the real stories of Nepali female s*x workers — women who face stigma, violence, and exclusion, yet continue to show extraordinary resilience and strength. Their stories remind us that every woman, including s*x workers, deserves dignity, respect, rights, and compassion.

Tämän kaiken takana on KIOSin kumppani FAITH. Heidän seksityöntekijöiden johtama vaikuttamistyönsä murtaa stigmaa, hiljaisuutta ja poliittista välttelyä — ja tuo ihmisoikeudet osaksi päätöksentekoa.
Lue koko Stories of Change -artikkelimme siitä, miten nämä sitoumukset saavutettiin, yksi keskustelu kerrallaan.

This is what accountability looks like: In Nepal, 57 parliamentarians, ministers and national institutions signed written commitments pledging to uphold the human rights of s*x workers.
KIOS grantee FAITH is behind all this. Their s*x worker–led advocacy is breaking through layers of stigma, silence and political avoidance — and bringing rights to the heart of decision-making.
Read our full Stories of Change article on how these commitments were won, one conversation at a time.

Nepal valmistautuu vuoden 2026 parlamenttivaaleihin tilanteessa, jossa kansalaisyhteiskunnan tunnelma on yhtä aikaa toiveikas ja jännittynyt. Vaalit alkavat huomenna 5.3.

ENG: Nepal is preparing for the 2026 parliamentary elections in a climate where civil society feels simultaneously optimistic and tense. The elections start tomorrow on the 5th of March. We asked from KIOS grantees how they view the situation as the election are about to start. The feeling seems to be in many ways two-fold, there is both hope and worry about the direction Nepal will take especially regarding inclusive democracy and human rights.
Nepal’s future depends on whether the new government can build a political culture founded on trust, inclusion and respect for human rights.
Thank you to all our grantees taking time to share their views!
