We are excited to share that we have signed an MOU with Disaster Preparedness Network Nepal - DPNet Nepal to explore the use of data and frontier technologies in strengthening disaster response in Nepal. As part of this initiative, NAXA and DPNet will collaboratively work on the following activities:

🔹 Organize the workshop titled “Drone Technology for Disaster Response in Nepal: Applications, Data Gaps, and Opportunities for Collaboration” : 30 April, 2026

🔹 Conduct a webinar on “Frontier Technologies for Disaster Response in Asia-Pacific: Current Status, Challenges, and Opportunities”

🔹 Organise the workshop titled “Data, Technology and Disaster Response in Nepal: Building a Shared Future Action Agenda”

🔹 Publish a research titled “Disaster Response Data and Technologies: Landscape Review and Stakeholder Research Priorities in Nepal”

🔹 Publish a research titled “Landscape of Drone Data Use in Disaster Response

🏆 FieldWise Wins 3rd Place at the Digital Entrepreneurship Competition 2025

FieldWise, the agriculture extension of our flagship platform Digital and Spatial Technologies for Anticipatory Action, secured 3rd position among 35 competing ideas at the Digital Entrepreneurship Competition 2025, winning a cash prize of NPR 100,000 🎉

On 12 January, our team participated in “Catalyzing Digital Innovation in Agri-food Systems for Inclusive Entrepreneurship”, organized by IDE Nepal. Nishon Tandukar, Hamal and Anupama Aryal represented NAXA, with Anupama - Climate Change and Agrometeorological Officer, delivering a seven-minute pitch on the FieldWise platform.

Alongside the pitch, we also showcased our agritech related works through an exhibition booth, which was honored by the presence of Dr. Madan Prasad Pariyar, Honorable Minister for Agriculture, Ms. Sabnam Shivakoti, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and representatives from various development partner organizations.

We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the winning teams and fellow finalists for their inspiring ideas and commitment to advancing inclusive, digital innovation in Nepal’s agri-food systems. It was motivating to share the stage with such a passionate and forward-thinking community.

The entire NAXA and DASTAA team sincerely thanks iDE Nepal for this opportunity. The recognition further strengthens our motivation to build solutions designed in the Global South, for the Global South.
