Disasters in Nepal claim hundreds of lives and cause billions in losses every year. To address this, Disaster Preparedness Network Nepal - DPNet Nepal has urged political parties to prioritize ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ค ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐๐๐) ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐-๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ in their election manifestos.
As part of this initiative, DPNet submitted a ๐๐-๐ฉ๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ to major political parties, including CPN (UML), Nepali Congress, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Ujyalo Nepal Party, and other. The proposal emphasized on Mainstreaming DRR, Risk-sensitive infrastructure development, Community-based preparedness and local search & rescue teams, Cross-border disaster coordination, Adequate budgets, insurance schemes, and subsidies for resilient housing.

The program recognized the leadership and commitment of the new executive team in strengthening disaster risk reduction and preparedness efforts across Nepal.
