Today is Yomari Punhi. It is a Newari festival marking the end of Rice harvest.

On this full moon day farmers offer prayers to Annapurna, the Goddess of Grains for a good harvest.

They celebrate with delicious Yomari. A dough shaped like a fish and filled with brown cane sugar and sesame seeds.

Gyuma - A Taste to Share, A Tradtion to Savour

Gyuma- a Traditional Tibetan sausage made with natural animal Casing, filled with seasoned minced meat, rice and spices.
Crafted by hand, it brings people together through flavour and tradition.

Today, we had the unparalleled joy of welcoming back Lars from Denmark, who first dined with us in 1987 at just 17 years old! 🥰

It was a heartwarming reunion at our Utse restaurant in Thamel, and we couldn’t be more honored to reconnect after 37 incredible years.

We’re delighted to see our guests returning to experience the natural wonders of Nepal. However, we understand that some may have concerns about the status of trekking trails and infrastructure.

September 2024 brought heavy monsoons to Nepal, leading to loss of life and damage to property and infrastructure. Thankfully, since early October, the rains have eased, and we’re now enjoying beautiful fall weather.
