Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivered a strong message at the UN General Assembly on Friday, strongly condemning recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.
He declared that any threat to the safety and sanctity of Mecca and Medina is a “red line that must never be crossed,” adding that the attempted drone attack near Mecca “outraged Muslims across the globe.”

Sharif said no Muslim could even dare to commit such a heinous act.
The statement comes as Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye deepen military coordination under their new defence pact.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, speaking from the United Nations, declared that Tehran is ready to reopen the critical Strait of Hormuz within seven days — but only if Washington accepts the deal.

The plan is based on the June Memorandum of Understanding and was conveyed via Qatar. US steps would come first; the strait opens on day six, nuclear talks restart on day seven.
“The choice now rests with the United States,” Araghchi said.
Global oil markets are watching closely.

Tehran just put a ticking clock on the conflict.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced a seven-day roadmap to halt all hostilities with the United States, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and restart nuclear talks — delivered via intermediaries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

The deal on the table:
• Full ceasefire on all fronts (including Lebanon) within 7 days
• US releases ~$12 billion in frozen Iranian assets
• Oil sanctions waived + naval blockade lifted
• Hormuz reopens on Day 7
• Nuclear negotiations begin immediately after
The proposal mirrors the collapsed June MoU but compresses the timeline dramatically. Iran says it’s ready the moment Washington says yes.
Will Trump take the olive branch — or keep the pressure on?

“We aren’t trying to kill Trump” — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian tells reporters in a rare New York hotel briefing.
Speaking Thursday at the Millennium Hilton near UN headquarters, Pezeshkian rejected US accusations that Tehran is plotting to assassinate President Donald Trump or his family.
“It has never been the position of the Iranian government, overtly or covertly, to seek to assassinate Trump or his family members,” he said.
The comments came a day after his fiery UN General Assembly speech, as tensions between the two nations remain sky-high.

In his first UNGA address as Nepal’s Prime Minister, Balendra Shah delivered a powerful plea for urgent global action on climate change, linking it directly to last month’s catastrophic floods that killed over 1,400 people and left more than 6,000 missing.
Calling the disaster a “Himalayan Tsunami” and a “warning to the world,” Shah stressed that climate change respects no borders and urged greater support for vulnerable nations like Nepal.

Nepal’s Prime Minister Balendra Shah just told world leaders at the UN General Assembly: the catastrophic August floods that killed over 1,400 people and left thousands missing were a global alarm bell.
Standing in New York, the 36-year-old PM hit hard:

“Have you really heard that warning?”
Nepal, responsible for less than 0.1% of global emissions, is paying the price for a crisis it didn’t create. Shah demanded urgent climate action, adaptation funding, and proposed a new Himalaya Climate Resilience Mechanism with India and China.
The message is clear: the mountains are melting, the floods are coming, and the world can no longer look away.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu hit back hard at the UN General Assembly, calling out Britain and France for criticizing Israel while pointing to their own vast colonial empires that once spanned the globe.
“Their colonies embraced the entire globe. Colonialism — give us a break. Another lie,” he declared, as dozens of delegates staged a walkout.
Sharp, defiant, and unapologetic.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu opened his UN General Assembly address in New York with a scorching rebuke as dozens of delegates staged a mass walkout in protest.

“If there are any other moral cowards who haven’t yet left this hall, please do so now,” Netanyahu declared from the podium, staring down the emptying chamber.
The dramatic exit left rows of seats vacant as the Israeli leader pressed ahead with his speech.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a combative speech at the UN General Assembly on Thursday, slamming Iran’s “murderous dictatorship,” Hamas, and other foes while also blasting critics including New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Britain, France, Turkey, and Qatar.

He denied genocide accusations in Gaza as “the greatest lie of the century,” claimed Israel is fighting a “seven-front war,” and thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for partnership against Iran. Dozens of diplomats walked out as supporters chanted in the chamber.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed his team discarded the prepared text for his United Nations General Assembly address after hearing U.S. President Donald Trump’s earlier speech.
He said the change was made “to articulate the realities of what the US imposes on our nation and the world.” Pezeshkian used the platform to reject the “language of force,” insist Iran’s military strength is purely defensive, and declare readiness for negotiations—but without submitting to pressure or threats.
The defiant remarks came amid heightened tensions, with Pezeshkian stressing Iran would never bow and directly responding to Trump’s warnings.
