Dear wizards,
As some of you know, Demand the source came to an end in 2017, with both founders entering other jobs.
Even though we didn’t crack the code back when fake news was barely a term, the times have changed and the term has grown to become a household name (Both Sindre and I have been heard shouting ‘I demand the source’ at increasing rates over the last years).
From climate change to medicine, knowing what makes up reliable information or not is becoming crucial in our digital world.
We are happy to announce that Gaute (me) has started as a product manager at Factiverse a new Norwegian start-up that combines Artificial intelligence and machine learning to assess the reliability of information online. Together with researchers at Universitetet i Stavanger and with an excellent team at STARTUPLAB we are now developing a state-of-the-art research tool for journalists and newsrooms.
If you are interested to follow our development and see our prototype(s), please follow Factiverse on Facebook.
We are also looking for partners and collaborators, so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want to get involved or have a chat about how we can tackle the challenges of fake news online.

"Technology and media do not exist in isolation – they help shape society, just as they are shaped by it in turn. That means engaging with people as civic actors, citizens, equals. It is about holding power to account, fighting for a public space, and taking responsibility for creating the kind of world we want to live in."
How technology disrupted the truth | Katharine Viner Social media has swallowed the news – threatening the funding of public-interest reporting and ushering in an era when everyone has their own facts. But the consequences go far beyond journalism
Some very wise words about partisan debate and polarisation of opinions. Taking one stance does not automaticly mean that you are opposing the "other side". Be pro-cop and pro-black!

Kan tillit bli fremtidens konkurransefortrinn?
Demand the Source Vil skape økt interaksjon og saklig dialog mellom leser og publisist For et år siden lanserte Sindre Seppola og Gaute Kokkvoll ideen om «Demand the Source» på Tøyen Startup Summer Camp.
