Oslo to Verona - Day 12

It’s been an unbelievable trip and why should I end it today!? I might as well carry on to right? I’ll see you there tomorrow.

Oslo to Verona - Day 11

Up and over the alps from to . I’ve done the pass once before and wanted to come back ever since. Some of the ascent is on a main road but once you get onto the Italian side it’s an amazing descent for hundreds of kilometres on mostly dedicated cycle tracks. There lots of places set up next to the path for food and accommodation. Should be in by the end of tomorrow and we might even head to the day after!

Oslo to Verona - Day 10

Philip Martin joined me today. We started late and it was 12:30 by the time we got started. Managed to finally cycle through from top to bottom and onto We will head up the tomorrow and onto in . Great success!

Just a head down and battle a slight head wind kind of day. The one and only Philip Martin is joining me tomorrow for the rest of the trip down to Verona. I can’t wait. Aiming for Innsbruck by the end of the day. Not much left after that.

Oslo to Verona - Day 8

Took it easy today as the temperature was insane at 42 degrees. Has a great cycle with with plenty of dips in the canal and lakes. Great to catch up. Will make an early start in the morning. Should be cooler tomorrow.

Totally cooked from todays ride. Had to stop a lot to cool down and keep hydrated. Broke my frame bag zip and 6km before the end I got a puncture again. Need to source some new tyres now. Mine have seen better days! Hopefully get to Munich tomorrow and have a day off after. Set to be a scorcher again tomorrow.

Oslo to Verona - Day 6

I had to listen to my body today and have a mellower day so did just above the 100km mark. I crisscrossed the old East German border which was a surreal experience seeing as though I was 11 years old when this still existed. The landscape is amazing and the cycle paths are getting better and better. Immaculately paved with no cars allowed. It’s a cyclists dream. I hope it continues tomorrow!

Oslo to Verona - Day 5

The landscape got hillier today but it was great to have the variety. My Wahoo played up again for the second day in a row. I’m loving getting into the flow of riding again. It’s so addictive. ✌️

Oslo to Verona - Day 4

Woke up in a new country and went through rain, thunder and lightning. Got a puncture to top it off but still loved it all!

Oslo to Verona - Day 2

Wanted to push on to Gothenburg today and that’s exactly what I did. Rest day tomorrow and a ferry to Kiel.

Oslo to Verona - Day 1

My holiday to Croatia got cancelled so I decided to cycle to Verona instead. I’ve not been able to cycle as much as I’ve wanted to this year. I’m looking forward to lots of long days in the saddle!

It’s a shame that the weather was so bad for a picture outside. It‘s been nearly 4 years since I bumped close to my own front door into this guy to my left. His name is Neil and he has a mission too. He is worrying. And he is a cyclist. Back in 2018 he started Worrying - I'm cycling the world for mental health. This time it was up to me to say hello at his parents house. A wonderful reunion.
