Okinawa is bringing people together through small groups of lifelong friends! On the Japanese island of Okinawa, there is an extraordinarily high number of centenarians. One of the reasons is "moai" - groups of lifelong friends. Traditionally, groups of five children are brought together, who promise to support each other for life. The "Moai" meet several times a week throughout a lifetime.
MoaiāThis Tradition is Why Okinawan People Live Longer, Better - Blue Zones Elders in Okinawa, Japan, one of the original āBlue Zonesā longevity hotspots, live extraordinarily better and longer lives than almost anyone else in the world.

Memories donāt have to be built in person ā simply being connected is what matters.ā says Karen, No Isolation CEO to Metro.
Lockdown is helping us forge deeper connections with our grandparents Elderly people say they have felt 'more loved' since self-isolation began.

Help those who cannot leave their house, buy them medicine and groceries, help with gardening or walk their dog. Community, neighbours and compassion is more important now than ever. We are all š

More relevant than ever, check out co-founder Karen Dolva's blog entry in HuffPost UK from last year on how we need to remember this group when developing tech.
