Heave ho! 🌊 Last years festival identity for Handverksfestivalen. A free two-day festival at celebrating Norway’s rich craft traditions. We played on the overarching theme "The Sea" adding mythic symbols and maritime folklore 🧜🏻‍♂️ Typefaces STK Bureau and RG Gaueko by 🔠

Liftoff, we have liftoff 🚀 Today we are launching Astro, a geometric typeface with strong roots in its history, with a full-fledged toolbox of stylistic sets. Not your average one-trick pony! 🪐

Astro at its core is a expressive geometric type family with details rooted in Bauhaus geometry, brutalist shapes, and sci-fi aesthetics. It combines its geometric heritage with playful traits – balancing functionality and personality. Astro has 7 weights with matching italics, packed with 13 stylistic sets under the hood, letting the designer adjust the volume 🎚️ While functional for everyday use, you can also add more flair with circular bowls – pointy, art-deco shapes – leaning capital letters – or more straight and open letter shapes. The expressive alternates are especially useful for standout applications like logos and headlines. Keep it classy, or dial up the personality when the project calls for it. Workhorse by day – and disco pony by night 🎠

The news you didn't know you were waiting for! 🗞️ A major overhaul of the Bureau family is finally here. Since its release in 2021, Bureau has gone through several tweaks – but nothing like this. So, what’s new: 🔩 Variable font support (Weight + Slant axes) ⚖️ New weight (Ironically: Regular) 🛟 Stylistic sets: Rounded Punctuation (for a softer look) 🔠 Extended character set and improved functionality 🎛️ Mastering and design tweaks by .janes 📐 Kerning by Igino Marini.

The family now counts 2 styles, with 6 weights each and matching slanted counterparts – totalling 24 cuts plus variable files. Phew! 🥵
