Check out Yggdrasil’s Hugin B topside on the move. 💪 This week, the 2500 tonnes topside was safely rolled across the yard and safely loaded onto a barge at Aker Solutions in Verdal. A major milestone for the project.

Hugin B is a normally unmanned installation in the southern part of Yggdrasil, delivered by the Fixed Facilities Alliance between Aker BP, Aker Solutions, and Siemens Energy. Following jacket installation this spring, the topside will soon set sail for the North Sea as the first of three to be installed in the Yggdrasil area.

This milestone is part of a bigger story. Since sanctioning Aker BP’s major project portfolio in 2022, we have committed to creating activity, building competence, and preparing the industry for the future. Sandnessjøen is a textbook example of exactly that. Behind this sail-away lies years of collaboration, high activity at the yard, and ripple effects.

The flare will be installed on Hugin A at the Aker Solutions yard at Stord, as the final major piece of the topside puzzle. Congratulations to the team for a job well done 👏

The final lifting on the Munin topside at Aibel Haugesund is a wrap. 💪The installation of the compressors, delivered by Everllence, and compressor house marks the end of several years of extensive assembly and heavy lifting at the yard — all executed safely and according to plan.

The team is now in the final phase of completion and commissioning activity, preparing Munin for sail-away and installation in the Yggdrasil area.

Munin is an unmanned production platform, the first of its kind on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. It represents a significant step forward in how we design and operate offshore facilities. 🚀

At Fenris, we are now testing the answer.

As we prepare for start-up in 2027, we are piloting the use of robots for inspections, observations and data collection at a normally unmanned installation (NUI). The pilot gives us hands-on experience with remote operations in real-life conditions.

Together with the robotics team on Yggdrasil, we are taking important steps towards smarter follow-up and a more data driven operating model.
