Onsdag 25. juni kl. 15.00 annonserer vi hvem som får lagre sin digitale kulturarv i Arctic World Archive på Svalbard – i 2000 år!

Den norske Blue Shield-komiteen (BSN) er Norges nasjonale komité for The Blue Shield, etablert for å beskytte kulturarv under væpnede konflikter og katastrofer. International Blue Shield ble dannet i 1996 som et samarbeid mellom fire UNESCO-kulturorganisasjonene ICA, IFLA, ICOM, ICOMOS.

Navnet og refererer til det blå skjoldet, symbolet for Haagkonvensjonen av 1954, kulturens Røde kors! BSN ble stiftet 23. august 2000 og har som mål å samle og spre informasjon, samordne innsats og påvirke myndigheter og fagmiljøer for å ivareta kulturarven i tilfelle krig og krise. Den har blant annet arbeidet for en nasjonal beredskapsplan for kulturarv og oppfordret norske myndigheter til å ratifisere internasjonale avtaler som UNESCO-konvensjonen av 1970 og Haagkonvensjonens annen protokoll.

Morten Thorkildsen, Seksjonsleder foto ved Nasjonalmuseet vil fortelle om hvordan de fotograferer og digitaliserer samlingen for tilgjengeliggjøring, formidling, forvaltning, forskning og bevaring av Norges viktigste samling av kunst, arkitektur og design. var det første kunstmuseets som deponerte sine bilder og data av sin omfattende og unike samling i AWA. Nasjonalmuseet har vært en samarbeidspartner med Piql og AWA over flere år.
