Erasmus Student Network is the biggest international student organisation in the world, active in 45 countries with over 540 sections. ESN Utrecht is the proud founding section and at the same time one of the biggest sections of the Netherlands with around 2500 members each year. As a part-time board member, you’ll develop yourself personally and professionally, gain international experience and run an organisation.

Join the Board Information Night on the 2nd of April to find out all about what’s it like to be in a board! During this night, you will receive information on what exactly ESN Utrecht does and what a board year looks like. Find out all about the different functions within a board and do a quiz to see which function would suit you best! Our Monthly Schedule for February is here! We have so many exciting events and activities to look forward to!

🎉We kick start this month with an amazing Intro week!

🏈On the 21st, we have sports matching event in collaboration with SportsBuddy, where you can try out different sports including badminton, volleyball or futsal.

🕵️On the 25th, we have exciting scavenger hunt planned for you in collaboration with UNICEF.

🧗‍♂️Last but not the least, on the 28th we have a bouldering event for you

We are kicking off 2025 with a wide variety of events, trips and parties here at ESN Utrecht. From day trips to parties, fun activities, and low-key meetups, there really is something for everybody!

Are you coming to Utrecht as an exchange or full degree student and you’re looking for the best start to your time abroad? Then the ESN Introduction Week is the right event for you!

The ESN Introduction Week will take place from the 9th until the 12th of September 2024. To start off your exciting adventure abroad, we have planned awesome activities for you to get to know Utrecht and to meet other internationals and locals. We will host four evenings filled with heaps of social, cultural, sporty and fun activities! We promise you, there is something for everyone!

During this week you will also get to know some of the activities and events that we are organising at ESN during the whole year. If you want to experience Utrecht in the best way, have a memorable first week and make friends for life, join us for the Introduction Week!

- Finally, you will become part of the amazing ESN Utrecht community. Our volunteers come from all over the world and foster a great community atmosphere. You’ll miss out by not joining us!

Who are we looking for? 👀

We are looking for enthusiastic and open-minded people that would like to contribute to our mission of creating a home away from home for international students. It does not matter where you come from, what you study, or whether you think pineapple belongs on pizza or not, we are happy with anyone joining us and help us improve our organization – and ultimately life for international students here in Utrecht!

If you are still reading this...

Here’s how you can become active:

- Board member: each year, six board members are running the organization, taking care of the most important things such as contact with higher education institutes and sponsors, marketing and promotion, internal and external communication and budgeting. This option is a little more time-intensive (around 15-20 hours per week) but you’ll get amazing things out of this experience, believe me!

- Volunteer: our volunteers are the masterminds behind our activities. They come up with new ideas and take care of the entire organization of the events, together with the Board. By attending the events they have organized, they can in touch with our international students and bond with them. Depending on the events, this can take up between 2-4 hours per week.

- Board support and extra roles: do you want to do more than just a few hours, but the Board is a little much for you? Then think about taking up a board support function! This is very new this year, and we are still figuring it out, but potential positions could involve managing social media channels, helping with the finances of the organization, overviewing events and sponsors, and much more!
