📊 Strong social enterprise ecosystems are built on evidence, not assumptions.
Across Europe, policymakers, support organisations, investors, and ecosystem builders need reliable insights to understand how social entrepreneurship is evolving, where progress is being made, and where further support is needed.

That's why the European Social Enterprise Monitor (ESEM) matters.

By contributing to the survey, you help create one of the most important sources of data on social enterprise development in Europe, informing policies, investment decisions, support programmes, and ecosystem-building efforts at both national and European levels.

Your insights help paint a clearer picture of the challenges, opportunities, and trends shaping the future of social entrepreneurship, ensuring that support reaches where it can create the greatest impact.

📝 Take part in the ESEM survey today and help strengthen the evidence base for a more resilient, inclusive, and impactful social economy across Europe: https://euclidnetwork.eu/2026/03/giving-impact-driven-entrepreneurs-a-voice-at-national-and-european-levels/

🎉 DIGI-SEII’s in-person training session in Brussels was a success!

A diverse group of SESO practitioners came together on 27 to 28 March to explore how digital tools and skills can enhance the impact of their organisations. Through interactive sessions, participants gained practical insights into leveraging digital tools and developing effective digital strategies. The next step is to share this knowledge within their organisations and wider social enterprise networks.

While the program's online modules and training sessions provide valuable learning opportunities, this face-to-face training created space to form stronger connections among participants. 🤝

SESOs play a vital role in driving Europe’s digital transformation. However, many organisations still face challenges in accessing the resources, skills, and strategic guidance needed to fully harness digital tools. That is why DIGI-SEII is so important.

👉 Is your organisation struggling to develop a digital strategy and maximise the potential of digital tools? The second call for DIGI-SEII training opportunities for both Social Economy Enterprises (SEs) and Social Economy Support Organisations (SESOs) will open soon. Stay tuned for more information!

📊 Strong policies need strong evidence.

The European Social Enterprise Monitor (ESEM) provides one of the most important sources of data on social enterprises across Europe, helping policymakers, ecosystem builders, researchers, and practitioners better understand how the sector is evolving and where support is needed most.

By participating in the ESEM survey, you contribute to a stronger evidence base for the social economy, enabling national and European stakeholders to track developments, identify trends, and compare progress across countries. These insights help shape more effective policies, strengthen support ecosystems, and increase recognition of the vital role social enterprises play in addressing social and environmental challenges.

🗣️ Your experience matters. Help us build a clearer picture of the social enterprise landscape across Europe.

We are proud to announce that we have signed the Madrid Declaration for Stronger Recognition and Funding of Social Innovation in the EU Multiannual Financial Framework 2028–2034.

Adopted on 5 May 2026 in Madrid, the Declaration represents a joint call from 17 National Competence Centres for Social Innovation and 67 ecosystem actors across 19 European countries. Together, we are calling on the European Commission, Member States, and MFF negotiators to:

→ Recognise social innovation as a transversal delivery approach
→ Ensure visible funding pathways within the National and Regional Partnership Plans
→ Preserve dedicated ESF+ support for social innovation experimentation and scaling
→ Integrate social innovation into competitiveness, research, and innovation instruments
→ Strengthen National Competence Centres and the wider ecosystem infrastructure

The next EU budget cycle is a defining moment. The challenges Europe faces right now, from green and digital transitions to democratic resilience and social inclusion, cannot be solved by standard instruments alone. Social innovation is the practical capability that bridges ambition and delivery and will strengthen our democratic resilience as a country.

We stand behind this call and we invite others to join.

✨ Spotlight on Impact: Lise Pape

As part of our series celebrating women driving change across innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact, we highlight leaders who are transforming lived experience into meaningful solutions that improve everyday lives.

🌍 Meet Lise Pape: Founder of Walk With Path

A second innovation, Path Feel, a haptic feedback insole to improve balance and monitor gait, is currently launching.

At the heart of Lise’s work is a deep commitment to improving quality of life through accessible, wearable technologies that integrate seamlessly into daily routines. Her products address mobility challenges holistically, recognising their impact not only on physical movement but also on mental health and wellbeing.
