🚨 Convicted. Sentenced. Still on the run.

Some of Europe’s most wanted fugitives have been sentenced to years behind bars for crimes including murder, drug trafficking and extortion, yet they continue to evade justice across borders.

🚨 8 arrested in a hit against criminal network smuggling Cuban nationals into Spain through the Balkan region. The network offered Cuban nationals a “travel package” for EUR 3 000 per person.

Some of the results are:
🔹 Arrests of the two alleged leaders of the criminal network;
🔹 4 house searches;
🔹 28 bank accounts and financial products frozen and seized;
🔹 Seizures include: bank cards, two imitation fi****ms, about EUR 10 000 in cash, electronic devices, and various documents relevant to the investigation.

Migrants were abandoned in vulnerable conditions, in overcrowded accommodation facilities lacking minimum living standards. In some cases, they were left without food, communication means, or basic hygiene conditions.

🛡️ Europol is strengthening support against migrant smuggling through the new European Centre Against Migrant Smuggling (ECAMS).
