The street musicians of Lagos/Portugal need your urgent help.

As you might know, I have been busking (playing music in the street for tips) in Lagos/Portugal since July of this year.

Just read the text of the petition for more details. In short: after years of using amplifiers, it suddenly is forbidden. Tomorrow we have a meeting at the Cityhall with the Council & the Collective of Street Performers.

So, it helps if we can get as many signatures as possible.

Gefeliciteerd beste Gina, dat je welverdiend, met vlag en wimpel, door de auditie van het Codarts bent gekomen. Dank voor het vertrouwen van jou en je vader Patrick Pat Vegas in mij met de voorbereiding en begeleiding hiervoor.

Prachtig dat dit zijn vruchten heeft afgeworpen. Er gebeuren veel geweldige dingen in je leven in de nabije toekomst. Je staat o.a. ook nog in de finale van het Junior Festival. En het gitaarspel van jou, en je zus Sunflower, wordt ook steeds beter. Het doet me goed dat ik daar ook aan bij mag dragen.

Jij en Sun zijn 2 uitzonderlijk gedreven en gepassioneerde jonge musici en zangeressen. Jullie zullen het allebei nog ver schoppen in het muzikale leven. Vooral het plezier waarop jullie alles beleven is erg aanstekelijk en is al een succes in zichzelf.

Jullie hebben de juiste mentaliteit. Niet in de laatste plaats door jullie vader, die alles opzij zet voor jullie muzikale carrière. Veel respect en waardering dus ook voor hem. Want zonder een goede begeleiding van huis uit, zou het veel moeilijk zijn geweest om zo ver te komen!

Het heden is al goed en de toekomst ziet er nog rooskleuriger uit! We've only just begun! Het prachtige avontuur zet zich gestadig voort!

Dear tappers,
Marc Mennigmann (German Stickist/Bassist/Pianist) and I would like to know how many of you would be interested in a small weekend seminar somewhere in September. This would be with Tapguitarists/Stickist Jim Lampi & myself as instructors.

Where? At Marc's place in the country side around Lagos, in the south of Portugal.
We know its a bit late notice, but Marc and I came suddenly up with this idea. This would be open to all tapguitarists.

Of course we still have to work out the details, like the costs, lodging, etc.

Jim Lampi was one of the first Stick players and mastered most styles.
Ron Baggerman was also one of the pioneering Stickists. Besides the Stick he plays also the Ziggy tapguitar and Touch Guitar.

Jim and Ron have performed and taught on many seminars in Holland, the UK, the USA, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and Italy.

My oldest student is Wim Helders (84 years) from Gouda! He plays the double bass, as you can see. This was the last lesson before the summer holidays!
