The Box

Homemade Cookies are her medium, to bring to the people of Rotterdam traditional tastes that link to memories, or create new ones. After lunch every Tuesday, or during a short visit. Next to a glass of fresh orange juice or a cup of tea. Usually on top of the fridge, but sometimes on the dining table or in the cupboard of my aunt's bedroom. During my childhood, but also forever, the box had been there, as a "gift" for me being there, or for just finishing my food. It contained treats, sometimes homemade, sometimes not. After 15 years of me going to the box, it is now in my hands. It came to me in order to remind me of well hidden stories in the back of my mind, to awaken feelings, to bring back memories. It is now here for me to fill it with new stories, new memories, new tastes.
