DBL-CHCK: LIMPE FUCHS (DE), MISCHA DAAMS (NL) at Verzamelgebouw 't Klooster Afrikaanderplein:
This Friday 11 September we present you an exceptional evening with noone less than the experimental sound artist Limpe Fuchs. Fuchs is a composer of acoustic and visual happenings who creates sound with unusual instruments. Born in 1941, Fuchs came of age in the hedonistic, politically charged sixties. After studying piano and violin in the early sixties at the school of music in Munich, a city full of fertile, counter-culture creativity, near the end of the decade she started „Anima Sound“, a collective name for twenty years of ‘sound research’ with her partner, sculptor Paul Fuchs. A true improvisation legend!

In other news today:
"From 1 January 2021, the artistic, experimental project De Player on Hillelaan 49d, near metro station Rijnhaven, will focus on research and experiment of printed matter in combination with sound carriers (releases). The name will change to De_Layer. When the 'necessity arises' they will organize live performances. In the press release, they conclude with: "Go and multiply. The future is uncertain, so is existence. Let's embrace that. " The decision has already been made before Covid-19.
De Player started in the living room with a sense of necessity 'in 2003 where the experiment and direct feedback are important. It continues to be an artistic and social 'vehicle' to bring the 'periphery of sound and performance art' to the attention of a 'relevant audience'" - 3voor12 Rotterdam

Dear followers of DE PLAYER,
To fill the void that is now emerging due to COVID-19 regulations, we will release a new series during this period called 'DE_LAYER'. A physical magazine, containing audio and print work from the artists we feel intimately involved with and currently cannot bring over to our stage. In this way, we try to maintain an active relationship with both our artists as well as you, the audience.
Above you can now subscribe for the first 3 issues, all for the price of 30 Euro. We will further ensure that the material falls through your mailbox. Expect the first edition to arrive at your bunkers in early May.
Participants who have already confirmed include: Andreas Trobollowitsch, Anthony Pateras, Caz Egelie, Ceri Hann, Cramer Florian, Francesco Cavalieri, Jérôme Noetinger, Ka Baird, Lieven Martens Moana, Limpe Fuchs, Mia Zabelka, Yoana Buzova, and more names will follow.
Thus and so, our BIGMAG. series (something which many years ago acted as an extension of the physical body of our club) gets kind of re-activated again. Now in crisis dynamics, a quickly produced info zine - including sound, gadgets and whatsoever - for those who still want the feeling of hanging around and being informed on auditory matters. Core themes include , , , etc. All in the broadest sense of their meaning, and with the necessary excesses and twists here and there...
