Volkswagen has announced some specific information about the concept's electric powertrain. The passenger version uses electric motors on the front and rear axles that generate a combined 369 horsepower and provide all-wheel drive. The cargo version (called the I.D. Buzz Cargo) has a standard 201-hp electric motor at the rear, but a front-mounted motor is available for those who want all-wheel drive.
