Met de release van Michel Ebbens langverwachte soloalbum is een creatief proces van meer dan 10 jaar voltooid! Het studioalbum ‘Inertia’ heeft als subtitel ‘Incidental Meetings & Other Short Stories’. Wie naar Ebben luistert ontdekt zijn gave muziek te vullen met verhalen, het waarnemen van een fraai schilderij, het weergeven van de sfeer in een boek, een herinnering of een bijna vergeten liedje.

Ik heb dit intense proces vanaf het allereerste begin mogen meemaken, en in mijn rol als medeproducent raakte ik gaandeweg steeds meer betrokken. Het was een lange weg voor hen die dit prachtige album vorm hebben gegeven. Vele artiesten uit binnen- en buitenland hebben eraan bijgedragen en het resultaat is een dubbelalbum geworden met muziek die ongekend is voor Nederland.

De plaat is gemixt door Michel Ebben zelf en ligt nu bij de bekende Amerikaanse masteraar Kim Rosen. Aan haar om het af te maken. Ik ben trots, en ook erg benieuwd naar jullie mening. Ebben heeft naar mijn mening een ‘masterpiece’ gemaakt, en hopelijk vinden jullie, de luisteraars, hetzelfde.

De muziek is geïnspireerd door Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, blues, folk, en artiesten.
Maar klinkt ontegenzeggelijk als Michel Ebben.
