Meet Gerto and Tim! 🎓

Our brand-new interns at the Rotterdam office. We are happy to have them on board, as we believe in giving young talent the space to learn and grow within CARU.

Gerto (left) is a Master’s student in Urban, Port and Transport Economics in Rotterdam. He is joining CARU for his thesis. With his background in Econometrics, Gerto will use data to help us optimize our global fleet. 🌍 Outside of work, he stays active in the gym or on the padel court. He also enjoys watching football or darts with his friends. 🎾

Tim (right) is doing the same study. Tim is joining us to write his thesis on a very exciting topic: the economic growth in India and the impact of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) on the container market. 📈 Outside of work, Tim is a passionate sailor and even crossed the Atlantic Ocean! From Cape Verde all the way to Grenada. ⛵

That’s why we welcomed second-year JINC students to our Rotterdam depot today for a ‘lightning internship.’ JINC is an organization that helps children from neighborhoods with socio-economic challenges by introducing them to the labor market and discovering their talents. 🙏

We proudly support JINC because we believe every child has talent that deserves to be seen, regardless of where they grow up. By opening our doors to show them the world of container trading and logistics, we hope to spark a career path they might never have considered.

It was a pleasure to have these students over! ✨

Our partner Boels Rental built something special. They used yellow CARU containers to create a professional airsoft field. How impressive is that? This setup brings teambuilding events to a whole new level.⚡
