🔉Josué is a sound artist, researcher, and educator based in Rotterdam. In this conversation, he will share his ongoing research, which investigates the sonic expressions of dissent—how collective voices disrupt urban soundscapes and forge emergent acoustic communities.

🪡 Natalia is a Rotterdam-based multimedia artist, originally from Sevastopol, Ukraine. She creates soft objects and installations, using embroidery and sewing to weave together artificial and natural materials. Her practice explores postmemory and remembrance culture, borderline states, and indirect communication.

🪏 Kate is an artist, gardener, composter, waste collector, seed gatherer, plant digger. Now based in Rotterdam, though originally from Naarm (Melbourne), Australia where she grew up on a horticultural farm, she has been involved in gardens/landscapes that are fostered in different cities, countries, contexts. Within this Conversa she hopes to ponder over the experiences of uprooting our human selves, and what that means when we leave behind gardens full of abundant relations — how do we take them along with us, if we can.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐬?

Conversas is a biweekly series of informal gatherings where people connect through projects, stories, and ideas. Each evening, three 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴 share something with the group for thirty minutes each—a research project, experience, fascination, or issue that occupies their minds.
The premise is simple: an open conversation centered on exchange. Listening and responding are as important as speaking. After each series of ten evenings, a publication documenting the conversations will be published.

Entrance is free, everyone is welcome.

.ap is the wonderful designer behind the posters and (future) publication for this series. 🌈

Mané Peixoto is a visual artist and designer based in the Netherlands, interested in the question of creativity within the limits of everyday life. ✏️

Drawing — or better said, mark-making — is her primary medium for this inquiry: a way to keep creativity close and accessible.

For the Conversas posters, she used one of her experiments with out-of-format drawing journals, built from a second-hand 50-cent CD case 💿 and paper leftovers from other projects ♻️.

Next week, Conversas Rotterdam kicks off at new location (Coolhaven 32)! Between March 11 and July 15, join us for 10 Conversas every other Wednesday evening. (all dates also in the link in bio)

This series is also an exercise in exchange. What happens when a grassroots initiative and an art institution take each other seriously? What other forms of organizing, creating, and sharing then become visible? Each evening is developed in direct collaboration with the TENT team and takes shape from the energy in the space.
