This transformation begins with the shell.

An oversized storage structure in Rotterdam Hillegersberg is reinterpreted through sectional interlocking and programmatic layering. The immense volume is domesticated by inserting interwoven floor plates and mezzanines, generating spatial compression and expansion across the interior.

Pocket gardens carve voids into the mass, structuring circulation and visual connections while dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior.

Above, a fully activated roofscape covered entirely in photovoltaic panels transforms the former industrial envelope into one of the largest residential solar installations in Rotterdam. For more www.irix.co
