It has been a year full of dreams, challenges, and growth above all, and we feel deeply grateful to be able to devote ourselves to what we love most: music.

For this special program, we will perform works by Ludwig Van Beethoven, F***y Mendelssohn, Béla Bartók, and our dear friend Nader Adabnejad Nader Adabnejad

Your presence means so much to us. Having an audience, sharing our music, and feeling that our voice resonates with you lies at the core of what we do.

And what better place to bid farewell to the season than our beloved Maastricht: the city where we live, where we create, and where this ensemble was born. It is especially meaningful for us to perform here, surrounded by the friends and musical family who have supported us along the way and who make every concert feel so at home.

This Sunday at the Protestantse Kerk in Heerlen, we will perform two deeply moving and intense works.

We will begin with 𝐌𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬’ 𝐌𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐧, together with . This powerful song cycle, based on poetry by Iakovos Kambanellis, carries the memory of the Mauthausen concentration camp and speaks with great humanity about suffering, love, and hope.

Afterwards, we will perform 𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐭 𝐍𝐨. 15 𝐢𝐧 𝐀 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐫, 𝐎𝐩. 132— one of his most profound late quartets, written after a period of serious illness and containing the famous Heiliger Dankgesang, a hymn of thanksgiving that feels both fragile and transcendent.

𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐠 is a Malaysian coloratura soprano based in the Netherlands. She graduated with first-class honours from the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin in 2017 and earned a Master’s degree in Solo Singing cm laude from Conservatorium Maastricht in 2020. She was a young artist with The Fat Lady opera group for the 2021/22 season.
Florence has performed in opera productions across Europe and Malaysia, with roles including Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, Frasquita in Carmen, and Lucy in The Telephone. Alongside opera, she is also an active recital artist, appearing at international festivals in Malaysia, France, and the Netherlands. In 2022, she was featured on Hans Leenders’ CD album A Musical Portrait.

𝐍𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐧𝐞𝐣𝐚𝐝 is an Iranian composer, violinist, audio engineer, and videographer. His compositions draw from contemporary classical, intercultural and experimental musical traditions, often exploring themes of identity and human unity. He has collaborated with ensembles and musicians internationally, creating works for both acoustic and electro-acoustic settings. Along his compositional journey, Nader is active in performance and interdisciplinary artistic collaborations, combining sound and technology to create works that encourage artistic dialogue.

𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧 is originally for Iran and holds a masters degree in Illustration. She began her professional career as an illustrator and animator, following her passion for many years.
In 2022, she made the decision to leave her homeland and immigrate to the Netherlands, where she pursued a second master’s degree in animation. Alongside her art, Baran is now pursuing a path as a producer, with the aim of helping artists like herself achieve their dreams.

It has been a very exciting journey working on the piece, finding all the color nuances and different textures, and we really love it, it brings us to a very special place, and we can’t wait for our first attempt to bring this work to life (hopefully of many!) 🩵

We are beyond excited for our upcoming performance on July 5th at the iconic Down the Rabbit Hole Festival ✨

It is a true honor to share the stage with music legends along with some of the most inspiring artists of our generation, and to be part of a festival that celebrates such a wide diversity of genres and artistic voices.

We are thrilled to contribute to this unique atmosphere and to connect with audiences in such a special setting.

For the first time, we performed Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 11, Op. 95 “Serioso”, alongside Bartók’s String Quartet No. 4.

We love challenging both ourselves and our audience 😏 — and the concert was a great success.

It was a true pleasure to perform in such a beautiful venue, with a full house and a wonderful atmosphere.

Voor het eerst speelden we Beethovens Strijkkwartet nr. 11, op. 95 “Serioso”, samen met Bartóks Strijkkwartet nr. 4.

We houden ervan om onszelf én ons publiek uit te dagen 😏 — en het concert was een groot succes.

Het was een groot plezier om in zo’n mooie zaal te spelen, met een volle zaal en een geweldige sfeer.
