FASHIONCLASH

From 22 to 28 August 2026, Branko Popovic, co-founder and artistic director of FASHIONCLASH, participated in a residency at CIMO – Centre for Research of Fashion and Clothing in Zagreb, Croatia. The residency took place within the framework of BoSA – Briefing on Soft Arts, through which CIMO hosted Branko.

✨Wat gebeurt er als de geschiedenis van Maastricht een nieuwe outfit krijgt? ✨
�Aankomende zondag, 13 september komt de geschiedenis van Maastricht tot leven door mode, performance en een stadsparade. �
Tijdens de Maastricht Helden Fashion Show stappen de ‘sterren van de stad’ uit de geschiedenisboeken en de straten van Maastricht in.

Lokale ontwerpers gingen aan de slag met een Maastrichtse held: van ’t Mooswief, Pieke Dassen en Sint Servaas tot Karel de Grote, Petrus Regout, Emma Kok en André Rieu. Zij vertaalden hun verhaal, karakter en betekenis naar een eigentijdse outfit. Geen letterlijke reconstructies, maar persoonlijke interpretaties.�
Naast de speciaal voor de parade gemaakte kostuums presenteren de lokale ontwerpers ook werk uit hun eigen praktijk.�

Met deze laatste editie komt de TexTiles-verhalenreeks op de communitypagina van FASHIONCLASH op Ons Limburgs Museum tot een einde.

In deze afsluitende editie deelt Sewien het verhaal achter haar TexTile ‘Every flower is delayed dream’, dat inmiddels door Maastricht Museum is geselecteerd voor opname in de collectie.

Ook hoor je in een audiofragment hoe Chiara vertelt over haar outfit, waarin zij haar veranderende blik op Europa vertaalt naar textiel, kleur en vorm.

Tot slot blikken we terug op de TexTiles BlockParty, waar honderden persoonlijke verhalen samenkwamen in één groot textielkunstwerk op Plein 1992.
