Untitled ( #215) 2025
My latest work, a twin of Untitled ( #214).
I photographed the green patterned background during my latest trip to Taiwan in the summer of this year.
Both works show a new colour palette, bright, clear and quite soft and gentle. Also for the first time some plants from the Red List of endangered plant species occur on these still lifes.
Come and see for yourself.

Untitled ( #212) 2025
(After Jan Brueghel the Elder)
In this work, one of a series of five works in total) I dive into the paintings of Jan Brueghel the Elder.
16 Years ago, when I started composing digital photographical still life’s, the paintings of Brueghel were one of my main sources of inspiration. During my career his works kept on tracking my attention. So I decided to make a photographical hommage to his paintings as a 15 year lustrum festivity.
In my Brueghel works, subtle references to prosperity and wealth can be found, just as they are in the old paintings. The old coins and jewelry have given way to symbols from contemporary sources of wealth: (high)tech and crypto. Will you also come and look for the clues in this work?

Today I had the great honor of receiving the first copy of Fleur Benz’s book “Zand erover”.
According to the author, my artwork, Untitled ( #73), crept into the story early on and got her thinking. “A floral still life that reminded me how beauty and transience always go hand in hand,” Benz says.
The story is also very funny, exciting, and a pleasure to read. Highly recommended for Sinterklaas and/or Father Christmas!

It’s almost time again: is taking place again. are exhibiting my work for the twelfth year in a row.
IIn Untitled ( #217), I explore the theme of paradise. Fig leaves with pink peppercorns, blood red poppies and the nearly extinct white common bedstraw (Galium sylvaticum) fill the Japanese vase. On the table lies a split fig, revealing its soft flesh. And do I see a snake crawling between the apple and the fig?.
This new work also features, for the first time, flowers I photographed during the field trips I undertook with . These flowers are endangered and are therefore on the Red List.
In addition to my own work, the gallery is also showing works by .laperre, , , and, for the first time, Schlegel.
PAN Amsterdam will be held from November 1st to 9th at the RAI Amsterdam (Hall 8).

It’s almost time again: is taking place again. are exhibiting my work for the twelfth year in a row.
I’ve created several works especially for this edition. In addition to this still life, two more will be on display for the first time.
In Untitled ( #214), I expand on my color choices and brightness. The soft green of the Taiwanese walls I photographed earlier this year references the color pigments Green Earth from Classical Antiquity, and it also represents my love for the Green Island of Taiwan.
These new works also feature, for the first time, flowers I photographed during the field trips I undertook with . These flowers are endangered and are therefore on the Red List. For example, I captured Common Bedstraw.
In addition to my own work, the gallery is also showing works by .laperre, , , and, for the first time, Schlegel.
PAN Amsterdam will be held from November 1st to 9th at the RAI Amsterdam (Hall 8).
