Me-wow!! 😻
This White Falcon and its little sister came into the shop for a luxury leopard-style upgrade! Thank you Mike for these outrageously cool pickguards! The only thing left to do for me was make the trussrod covers, and give the guitars some TLC.

🎸Gretsch Country Classic I
A great guitar that needed a setup, and I swapped out the standard neck pickup for an old TV Jones blade pickup, for that real Chet Atkins sound! After this work, it feels a lot better, and it's just that bit more special.

🎸Gibson ES-125 '56 - refret
This beautiful archtop of almost 70 years old came into the shop for new frets, and some new hardware. The new tailpiece and tuners were too shiny for such an old instrument, so I did some relic'ing. Nothing crazy, just to make it look like 70 years old, well-maintained hardware.
The new frets make it so much more comfortable to play, and the guitar is ready for another 70 years of playing!

Some detail shots of Veena no.3, this one from the eighties!

Veena no. 3 in the shop! Once the headstock is back up, it's time for a new fretboard, new tuners, and a fresh setup. The first time these instruments seemed intimidating, but after a few you get used to them and they are very cool sounding and easy to play, even for someone not trained in Indian Classical music!

Horsey looked a little worried, but he's all better now 🐎🏆
Very nice to have a mongolian Tuvan in the shop!

A 200 year old Saraswati Veena came in some time ago, to be made playable again and with some modern upgrades. The owner wanted guitar locking tuners for added stability, so I designed some wooden pieces that would use the old tuning pegs as support so I didn't have to drill into an instrument that might as well been in a museum. A very fun job and a great opportunity to learn some more about this very cool instrument!

It's been months since I posted, and I want to get back in the habit, so I'm just going to post photos of stuff I did today.
1,2,3,4. I sprayed some stuff black
5. Sprayed some lacquer over this Gibson Les Paul Recording bass from 1972
6. Lowered the bridge and saddle on this Segovia
7. Started fretwork on this Fender Jazz bass neck
I also did some boring administrative work, but I'm not going to bore people with that.
That's it for today! See you in a few months probably!
