ISC Christmas activities and services🌲⛄

BigBlueButton 22/12/2020

Dear all,

Our minister of religious affairs has urgently asked all churches to go back to online mass, just like in the spring. Not only as a precautionary measure for ourselves, but also to show empathy with all those suffering from the virus, the ISC Board has decided to resume our online services starting from Christmas Day until January 19th, when the lockdown ends.
We realize that this will be a disappointment for many, and that some may now feel lonelier than ever. Therefore we invite you all to ‘stay on’ after the online mass for a digital coffee gathering. We want to see decorated Christmas interiors, with Christmas trees and candle lights. But most of all we want to see you yourselves, with your smile and warm Christmas greetings. See you at Christmas! Same time: 11:30 AM, and same link: https://bbb.tbm.tudelft.nl/b/els-ezf-tk7

Coming into a new place to start a new adventure is as exciting as it is nerve-wrecking. Most Challenging during corona times. Every one of us came to this lovely city of Delft with a specific purpose, yet we still hope to enjoy life on the side, making the best of each day we have in this city.

We gladly welcome you to ISC Delft, where we celebrate English services every Sunday. You can join us to make the best of the days together in Delft! We are a group of happy people, mostly students and young professionals, who love God and love people.

Our purpose is to create a loving community that international students can call second home while being away from their first home. Through our Sunday services and various activities such as singing, potlucks, bible chats, we bring students together, celebrate diversity, and strive to create peace by being in peace with ourselves and the people around us.

Our English mass is on the first and third Sunday of the month with Fr Avin, SVD, and the second and fourth Sunday of the month is a Protestant service with Rev Taco. If there is a Fifth Sunday in the month, we do Taizé Services or we prepare a service with no pastor or priest. All our services start at 11:30 am CET on Sundays in Franciscus and Clara Kerk. Click here to get the address: https://goo.gl/maps/E276TfGtkGhfCV35A . Currently, we also make our best to stream the service online using this link: https://bbb.surfcloud.nl/b/els-ezf-tk7.

We also have bible chats on Thursday evenings online (due to Corona regulations) from 20:00 - 20:45 CET. One Thursday the bible chat is led by Fr Avin and the next is Rev Taco. You can use this link to join: https://bbb.surfcloud.nl/b/els-ezf-tk7

If you like to sing or just hear songs in different languages, you can join us on Wednesday from 20:45- 21:30 CET using this link: https://bbb.surfcloud.nl/b/els-ezf-tk7

If you have any questions, you can also drop us an email: [email protected] or you can look for us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/iscdelft, and our website is: www.iscdelft.nl.

This can be your home away from home! Don't be shy and join us :)

You can still register for the Interfaith Conference this coming Saturday at The Hague. It's all about the relationship between faith and science. In Europe it often seems as if science has become the new faith.
Our keynote speaker is prof. Cees Dekker of the TU Delft and one of the workshops will be given by Assela Pathirana, lecturer at IHE.
Find more information on the flyer.

Can science and faith go together? Do they complement, support or contradict each other? Has science become the modern religion of the Western world? And how do people of other parts of the world and different religions and world views look at science?
If you are interested in those questions don't miss our annual Interfaith Conference on 17 November at The Hague with the theme 'Faith in science?' Keynote speaker is prof. Cees Dekker, TU Delft.
We prepared an interactive programme.
You can register online: www.iofc.nl/interfaith-conf-2018.
