End of Tai Chi training, planting tree ceremony

Hello all, coming back to you to up-date about the production of our/your DAOS barefoot shoes. For Tai Chi Chuan practise or everyday us.
The people of the tannery were so kind to share some video shots of the leathers made and we got some shots of the shoe soles being pressed and trimmed.
The leathers shown hang to dry to be “finished” after with a protective water-based coating. Before reaching this stage some weeks of work (soaking, trimming, tanning) have already passed. Making responsible leather of quality requires lot's of expertise and experience. Also the making of shoe soles, to my surprise involves lot’s of manual work. It’s enlightening to see the actual work and realize how many people are overall involved in the making of our shoes ( in Mongolia, Portugal, The Netherlands).
Coming week I hope to share more pictures to illustrate the cutting and assembling of the shoes.
