Yesterday afternoon, our colleague Ellen van Herk had the chance to greet high-heat tanker Iver Balance, as the vessel transited the Oude Maas river on her way to Dordrecht (NL).

👏 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲

🚢 On 10 June, 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝘁𝘇𝗴𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗲 marks his 20th anniversary with the company. C/O Hare was congratulated by the team on board his current vessel, high-heat tanker 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁.

⚓ C/O Hare started his journey with Vroon in 2006, initially working as AB on offshore-support vessel 𝗩𝗢𝗦 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿. The following year, he made the switch to Iver Ships. After joining 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 as Fourth Officer, he sailed on a number of our product tankers until 2018. In early 2019, C/O Hare started his first deployment with our high-heat tankers. Since then, he has served on board 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 and 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, since 2022 as Chief Officer.

Starting in Breskens as Management Assistant to the Board of Directors, Nicky has been a familiar and driving force behind many of our internal and external communications ever since. From working on our Annual Reports to keeping our website and social media up to date—and not forgetting the highly appreciated company magazine, the News Express—her dedication and energy have made a real difference across the company.

🚢 Last week, our high-heat tanker 𝗜𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 arrived in Zelzate (BE). Vroon CEO 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗷𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗻 took the opportunity to visit the vessel, together with Supervisory Board member 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻, Iver Ships Managing Director 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝘂𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗷𝗸 and Superintendent 𝗟𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗹𝘂𝗶𝗷𝘀.

𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗱𝗲 𝗞𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗸 and his crew extended a warm welcome to the visitors, sharing their enthusiasm for the vessel.

Iver Ambition had arrived from Malmö, Sweden to discharge her cargo. During the visit, the vessel was heating up her cargo tanks in preparation for loading the next cargo, destined for Canada. Iver Ambition is engaged on a regular trade between Canada and North West Europe, carrying warm and hot temperature chemicals and oil products. Following several modifications in recent years, she is now a unique ship capable of carrying warm and hot temperature cargoes consecutively.

Last weekend, Vroon Offshore Services Managing Director 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺 and his wife 𝗞𝗶𝗺 were warmly welcomed on board high-heat tanker 𝙄𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚, during the vessel’s port call in Dundee (UK).

A change from Stuart’s daily offshore-support vessel environment, the visit offered a great opportunity to learn more about another part of the Vroon fleet.

🚢 After a one-day port call in Aberdeen for crew change and essential victualling, 𝗩𝗢𝗦 𝗩𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 was spotted last week returning to 𝗕𝗣’𝘀 jack-up rig Maersk Noble Innovator.

VOS Voyager is one of 14 IMT field-support vessels that make up part of our fleet of 29 offshore-support vessels. A Class ‘A’ emergency response and rescue vessel (ERRV), equipped with two daughter craft and two fast-rescue craft, she can provide accommodation for >300 survivors. Her total crew accommodation capacity is 22 persons.

✅ Built in 2009 at the Astilleros Zamakona Shipyard in Bilbao, Spain, the vessel’s propulsion is delivered by a diesel-electric system that not only provides redundancy, but exceptional fuel consumption. With twin prop Azimuths and two electric bow tunnel thrusters, her manoeuvrability is equally impressive.
