Expedition Good Life

The first lodge I constructed in my backyard.
I had great help, wouldn't be possible to do it alone.

I am happy we built it. It is not the most beautiful hut I have ever seen, but I built it to learn. And I did learn:
- some branches work better than others. The plane tree branches I took from where I was born, are perfectly bendy. The rough branches I found around my farm, are crooked and not that subtle.
- I built the 8 vertical poles from the branches that come from my birth ground, I love the symbolism and want to keep that.
- the 4 horizontal layers, the symbols of the 4 creation forces in the Lakota mythology, are made from local branches. Again, love the symbolism.
- we made an opening for the door, but could have connected at least the top 2 layers.
- building it together started a conversation on inner peace, that was great.
- we built in a relaxed way, enjoying the process and learning on the go. I love that energy and that is what I want to bring to this hut as well.

I dream of building on the learnings of the lodge to create meaningful businesses.

Who knows how much Inipi there will be in 2024?

The sweatlodge, Inipi, has found a special way into my heart.

On the journey to create meaningful workplaces, I would love to take the learnings from the lodge to the business environment.

There is much too learn from the lodge. She shows us many things, both during a sweat but also outside of it.

My biggest learning from yesterday: if I want to overcome my own damaging behavior, I can remind myself I have a right to be part of a group, that I have a right to bring my creativity into the world, I can feel at ease when I allow myself to feel at ease.

🌐 De Macht van Gedachten 🌐

Overal waar ik gewerkt heb, vond ik er iets van. De Rabobank leek hiërarchisch, Frisse Blikken geld-gedreven, Eneco traag.

Het bijzondere is: dat zijn ze niet. Of in ieder geval zeker niet zo veel als ik dacht. Mijn denken zette me op het verkeerde been.

🫵 Jouw denken zet jou ook (soms) op het verkeerde been. Bijvoorbeeld toen je vanmorgen bedacht wat vandaag minder leuk gaat zijn op werk (die gedachte is *zeker* langsgekomen).

Ik projecteerde mijn eigen gebrek aan voldoening op de organisatie waar ik werkte. De Rabobank was niet hiërarchisch; ik was op zoek naar erkenning. Frisse Blikken ging niet over geld; ik vond dat ik het niet goed genoeg deed. Eneco was niet traag; ik dacht dat ik er niet bij hoorde.

Onze innerlijke gesprekken bepalen hoe we de wereld zien en ons eigen leiderschap ervaren. 🧠 De ideeën in ons hoofd beïnvloeden hoe we reageren en beslissingen nemen. 🌍

Organisaties, onze collega's, je team - ze zijn niet op zichzelf iets. Ze weerspiegelen simpelweg wat we geloven en denken. 💡

Het is handig om te begrijpen hoe onze gedachten ons leiderschap beïnvloeden. Het begint met het doorgronden van hoe jouw ideeën je gevoelens en acties sturen. 🤔
