WW2 Canadian Field Kitchen

At the moment we are at Wageningen! 😃

We are extremely busy with preparations for coming reenactment season and of course just life in general 😄
But sometimes we find a couple of photos from previous year and what an amazing year did we have! 😉
So here are some photos of our mussels party! 😋
Apparently you can cook them perfectly 👌 in a soyer stove. Some white wine, fennel, cream and lots of garlic.

When we count all the meals we prepared this year even we find it astonishing. 😱
Especially considering most of it was cooked during 3 events. 😵‍💫

We are curious what next year will bring! 😊😁

Last weekend we gave visitors the opportunity to try a variety of dishes at Fort Sabina! This way they could smell, see and taste what Canadian soldiers ate during WW2.
This is what was on the menu:. 😋
Curried chicken and rice
Mock turtle soup
Fried chicken
Parkin biscuits
Raspberry buns
Flapjacks
Rock cakes
