studio has been out of action all of the year as i’ve been moving location, finally got it all setup this week though.

i love server racks. also got another stagebox so ive got 56 inputs on each side with only 2 optical and 1 ethernet cable connecting them, so tidy.

i missed making a spontaneous jack tiraquon EP for the last bandcamp friday because of this which is unacceptable, but i have quite a few things i’m gonna do on tiraquon recordings in the nearish future.

this weekend i’m doing a tour i guess of the north of england.

hello, i have a new remix of a track by out today on .

this is the first thing i made following production of six beginnings on last year so it has a residual early warp vibe. out digitally and i believe physical is to follow, bandcamp link in bio.

some duelling ambient acid which also serves as the swan song of my MKS70 before i traded it into against my prophet 10. i owned that thing since 2008, but it was time.

currently i am deep in packing up the studio as i’m moving at the beginning of february then i can finally make music again.

hello, it’s bandcamp friday and i’ve got some more spontaneous jack tiraquon for you.
the last while i’ve been accumulating old akai samplers again along with a €2 pair of sunglasses that are too small for my massive head.
here are five tracks of prog, jungle-ish acid, industrial-ish electro, balearic and water level ambience.
once again this is mastered by the greek god of dynamics, ilias from .

Jack Tiraquon - Phono Lake’s Mono Takes

Last month I had the pleasure of playing for .intl at the wonderful .lake.festival here in Amsterdam. In the last week of August I had very limited studio time and decided i’d finally launch the Jack Tiraquon alias I have been planning for ages and make an EP as a gift to the festival. This alias will serve as a fun and more spontaneous outlet for my music whilst I work on the grander ideas of SDC.

The EP is 6 tracks of acid braindance electro ambience beautifully mastered to tape by of studios for that subtle warble which brings an extra layer of warmth and familiarity.

Top deejay has said, “it made me smile in the cosiest way, thank you.”

Eventually this will get a wider release on a newly relaunched Tiraquon Recordings via , but for now it is Bandcamp Friday and the EP is available for free or whatever price you wish to pay with all profits going to .movement .

I really enjoyed making this EP and there will hopefully be much more Jack Tiraquon to come.

the last of my remaining oldies going off for a spruce up today. over the last few years i had been slowly selling off vintage equipment in favour of more reliable modern equivalents, but i could never part with these.
luckily here in the netherlands there is an abundance of synth techs so i’ve picked up a few old things over the last year with that in mind.
when i first got my 808 in 2009 i immediately had possibly the worst midi mod installed which had to go through the side, but now i’m having the much better mod installed which goes through the existing dinsync port and having the sides replaced by recreations.
i am hoping it returns looking a bit less like it came from the wreckage of the titanic too. i can’t remember if it was like that when i bought it, but i did have quite a damp studio for a while which can’t have helped.

happy 808 day.
i got mine in 2009 after placing a joke bid for £808 on a vemia auction. paid for with a student loan for a music technology course i attended for about 4 months.
lately been been having a hardware fx renaissance. when i upgraded my studio computer to a mac studio a few years ago the newfound CPU power had me swear off hardware inserts/sends in the name of convenience and lie to myself saying the sound was the same - it is not.
the 808 is going through some of those sends in this video.
finally getting it serviced and having the midi mod upgraded to tubbutec soon.
shout out for making me physically need an 808 after seeing him at bloc weekend in 2009.
