The Nuhanovic Foundation assists war victims seeking access to justice by providing a legal database and funding.
“What they did to us is not normal. And they are living a normal life while we still are not.”
Fawziya Zandinan was nine years old when ISIS attacked her home in Shingal, abducting her and separating her from her family. Over the next four years, she was sold several times before eventually being freed. Her parents and one brother remain missing to this day.
Now living in the Netherlands, Fawziya dreams of studying law — because she believes accountability matters. Not just for her, but for every survivor still waiting for justice.
Her story is part of our Justice Journeys campaign. Read it at the link in bio.

Four survivors. Four journeys. One pursuit of justice.
Today, we share the film at the heart of our campaign, Justice: From War to Democracy and Freedom — featuring Fawziya Zandinan, Alaa Abdel Qader, Hasan & Nasiha Nuhanovic, and Hanna Vorosheva.
Each of them has faced unimaginable loss. Each of them has chosen to fight for accountability. And each of their stories is a reminder of what is at stake when survivors are left to pursue justice alone.
Behind every legal case is a person. A family. A life that was taken apart, and a determination to see those responsible held to account.
If their stories move you, please share this film — and consider supporting our mission by donating to the Nuhanovic Fund for Legal Action, which helps cover the costs of legal advice, representation, investigations, translation, psychological support, and more.
