That time of the year when our standard espresso coffee is running out of stock has arrived.

This time had another outstanding coffee from the Sidama region in Ethiopia
ready for us all to enjoy before the new Ethiopian harvests hit Europe.

Mulugueta has a elegant, juicy and rich chocolate flavour profile that works wonders with some
milk. Expect notes of milk chocolate, followed by bright mandarin-like acidity and a structured,
peach-driven sweetness in the finis

New on the menu: chocolate-hazelnut & pear cake. A moist, fluffy chocolate sponge cake filled with pear and star anise jam, finished with a rich hazelnut and chocolate frosting.
A gluten-free option for those seeking something sweet without compromise. You wouldn’t guess it’s gluten free.

Exactly 12 years ago - October 19th 2013, Scandinavian Embassy opened its doors by Sarphatipark in de Pijp for the very first time. We served fresh organic milk and local produce, paired with coffees from around the world, carefully selected and roasted by passionate Scandinavian innovators.

Local and global, SE has always offered a place where neighbours, curious travellers, coffee aficionados, and food lovers could all feel at home.

In a warm, intimate space tucked into a “forgotten” corner of de Pijp, we set out to create experiences that felt personal and genuine.

From day one, SE became a collection of experiences shaped by a wide community — long-time locals and new residents, young coffee professionals who welcomed us into their circle, foodies and coffee lovers, and those who found love (and friendship) within these walls.

From our humble beginnings to local and international recognition, from our first café to our new bakery, SE has always been about one thing: creating something honest and unique.

To everyone who has been part of this journey — guests, partners, team members, and friends — thank you. Thank you for allowing us to pour our hearts into this project, to grow alongside you, and to keep learning every day.

As we continue to develop as a well-established company in this city, we look forward to creating new products, moments, and memories to share with you.

This Sunday, we look forward to sharing this moment with you — along with a modest little surprise for those sitting at the café 🎂
