Most people only think about DigiD when they need to log in somewhere.
You might use it for taxes, healthcare, education, your pension, or other government services. Most of the time, it just feels like a normal login screen.
But this story shows why digital infrastructure is much bigger than that.
According to NL Times, the Dutch government has blocked the planned takeover of Solvinity by the U.S. company Kyndryl. Solvinity plays a key role in operating DigiD, the digital identity system people use to access Dutch public services.
The decision wasn’t presented as being against American companies specifically. The government said the screening was country-neutral, risk-based, and focused on protecting the public interest.
That’s the important part.
When a system is connected to identity, public services, sensitive data, and national infrastructure, ownership matters. So do security, jurisdiction, and continuity.
Technology isn’t just about apps and login screens. It’s about the systems behind them: how data moves, how users are verified, how services stay reliable, and how technical decisions affect real people.
That’s why practical tech understanding matters.
When you learn software development, you don’t only learn how to build websites. You also learn how modern systems are structured, how different parts connect, and why security and reliability need to be considered from the start.
At UpLeveled, we teach practical development skills and AI literacy so people can better understand the technology behind the tools, platforms, and decisions shaping modern work.

If you’re mid-career, it’s normal to wonder whether coding still makes sense in an AI-driven world.
But coding isn’t just about writing lines of code or preparing for a junior role. It’s about building technical fluency.
You learn how software works, how different parts of a product connect, and how to understand whether a technical decision actually makes sense.
That matters even more with AI.
AI can help you move faster, but you still need enough understanding to question the output, spot weak logic, and use the tool without depending on it blindly.
For people who already bring work experience, industry knowledge, or product understanding, learning development skills can add a new layer to what you already know.
At UpLeveled, we help people build practical tech skills in a structured and supportive way.

Typing blurry letters. Selecting traffic lights. Clicking “I’m not a robot.” That is CAPTCHA doing its job.
CAPTCHA is a website’s way of checking whether a visitor is human or a bot.
It helps reduce spam, fake accounts, and automated attacks.
The name stands for “Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart.”
In other words, it’s a test that should be easy for humans but difficult for bots. Some CAPTCHA systems do more than block bots. They also help create AI training data by asking people to identify words, images, or objects.

Uber reportedly burned through its entire 2026 AI budget in just four months.
Not because people ignored the tools, but because almost everyone started using them. That’s the real shift.
When AI becomes useful, teams use it more. And that creates new questions for managers, employees, and companies: How much should we spend? Where does AI fit into the workflow? Who makes the decisions?
That’s why tech knowledge matters more, not less.
At UpLeveled, we teach practical development skills and AI literacy, so people don’t just use new tools. They understand the technology behind them.

AI is often introduced as a way to work faster and cut costs.
But across a whole company, the tool stack can become expensive quickly.
The real value is not in using every new platform, but in understanding which tools actually improve the way people work.
At UpLeveled, we help people build the tech literacy to make those decisions with more confidence, from understanding tools to thinking critically about how they fit into real workflows.

AI can be a powerful tool, but it should not replace your own critical thinking.🧠
Because the real skill is not just getting an answer.
It is knowing whether that answer makes sense, what might be missing, and when you need to question it.
That’s why technical understanding still matters. At UpLeveled, we help learners build the skills to work with technology confidently, thoughtfully, and with real judgment.

AI can sound very confident, even when it has misunderstood the task.
That’s why using AI well is not just about asking better questions. It’s also about knowing how to check the answer, spot what’s missing, and guide the tool in the right direction.
At UpLeveled, we help people build real technical understanding, so they can work with tools like AI more confidently and critically.
AI can help you move faster, but your judgment still matters.

Amazon’s reported struggle with “AI sprawl” points to a challenge many companies are starting to face: when every team builds or adopts its own AI tools, things can quickly become harder to manage.
Tools overlap. Work gets duplicated. Data moves through systems in ways people may not fully understand.
That doesn’t mean AI is the problem. It means technical judgment matters.
To use AI well, you need more than curiosity. You need to understand how software works, how data flows, and where the risks can appear.
That’s exactly why we teach both practical development skills and AI literacy at UpLeveled.
The goal isn’t just to use new tools. It’s to understand them well enough to make better decisions.

Trying to get ChatGPT to follow the full instructions can feel a lot like learning to code.
You think you were clear.
Then it ignores one detail.
So you adjust, test again, and slowly figure out what works.
That process can be frustrating, but it also builds an important skill: learning how to think clearly, give precise instructions, and improve through iteration.
At UpLeveled, we help you train that same problem-solving mindset through real coding practice, structured guidance, and support along the way.

AI is moving fast, and Europe is still trying to decide where the rules should sit.
The EU is debating stricter regulation for higher-risk uses of AI, including healthcare, transport, public services, and law enforcement.
Businesses want space to innovate. Governments want clearer rules around safety, transparency, and harmful AI-generated content.
For anyone working in tech, that matters.
AI is not just another tool to add to your workflow. You need to understand what it does, where it can go wrong, and when human judgment still matters.
That’s part of what we teach at UpLeveled, through our Full-Stack Development course and our AI Literacy training for professionals.
