Went to see King Dick in Zwijndrecht Belgium! They played in De Smoutpot barn. It must be one of the smallest and best places I have ever been to see a band play. the place looked like it might collapse at any time, it was tiny (got filled by 50 people) and for the first time in years, i could have a beer and a cigaret in hand inside. **k
found this clip of my son :) he wanted to record a song, so got the gear and let him, my daughter is in the back drawing the album cover!
I knew Tom Pintens as a multi-instrumentalist from Zita swoon and as frontman from Flowers For Breakfast. When I found two albums by him he made as a solo artist in 2012 I fell in love with his music all over again. He really is one of few who can use Dutch / Flemish in a poetic way in songs, a rare talent. Tom was the first Belgium musician I reached out to for my project, I am very grateful that Tom welcomed my project and me as he did, he opened a lot of doors for me in Belgium. Excerp is from “Al Wie Kan Minnen”.
“There is this man, he’s living in my head his name is Ben Bananas.” This is one of my favorite songs, the mood, the lyrics, the voice and band. Thank you ! Bad temper? This song!
I met up with Matt Watts for this session in Antwerp in the studio of Nicolas Rombouts, bassist and producer amongst others. Matt Watt is supporting Stef Kamil Carlens’ tour starting Jan 12th.
Lucky Fonz III, I met this guy in 2013 and he was / is a little difficult to read, but that is really one of his likable characteristics. this excerpt is for his song Sparrows.
got to record a session with Marike Jager and Jan Heuvelink in 2015 in their lovely home. excerpt is from Butterfly. hope you enjoy this one!
I knew Bjorn as guitarist from Zita Swoon and I knew Nathalie as a singer from Laïs, but this project Eriksson Delcroix blew me away, fell in love with them instantly!
Love the old songs, love the vocals. excerpt is from the song Time Is Winding Up.
The first time I heard Daniel Versteegh sing was back in 2010 when he played a two song session. It was the coldest session I ever recorded. outside it was -8 celsius inside it was -2 how I love old rundown buildings. After the second song Daniel’s fingers could no longer do what he wanted them to do.
I recorded a double session with Marlon Penn and Daniel Versteegh in Daniels’s attic. this excerpt is from a song by Marlon Penn: Forsake Me.
Recoding this session with Wouter Hamel was a challenge: no room at all and a lot of musicians and instruments. But it turned out to be such an awesome day!! Excerpt is from his song Noam.

Belgium bands like Rudy Trouvé’s Gore slt are the main reason I started the NFS, I have recorded a session with Rudy as you might know. This tape was released by a UK label and Distributor a label with it’s main focus on Belgium bands. So I just had to order it :)
