We need to dispel the myth or misconception that emotions are uncontrollable because they arise spontaneously. To change some behaviours, the first step is to become aware of our inappropriate emotional habits, and from there to relearn different ones.

Increase your personal ability to project yourself in the direction of your happiness. Inner acceptance is always the basis of happiness, in any form and in any circumstance. For only "YOU" can know yourself well enough to know what you want, what is important to you and what you wish to prioritise in this adventure of existence in which you are the protagonist.

Throw yourself into love and remember:
Love begins with self-love. My 'I' as a source of personal affirmation and value.
The other person is a source of affirmation and a source of love, but does not complete my 'I'.
Therefore, no one can make me completely happy and no one can make me completely unhappy.
Feeling love is wellbeing, pleasure and psychological health. It is not suffering, nor fear, nor does it determine my personal worth.
Good handling and management of these concepts can position us well when it comes to embarking on the adventure of loving. We will choose to love and be loved, not on the basis of our fears, insecurities or myths of love, but on the basis of our motives, personal values and life goals, making us mutually happy. Or, as we behavioural psychologists say, to be a great source of mutual reinforcement.
