TOPIC: YOUR MOUTH AND YOUR TRIUMPH

SCRIPTURE: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
LUKE 21:15

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When God said that he would give you a mouth, it means, he would give you a gift for your life’s triumph.

Our God is the God of purpose and objectivity. He created every organ of our body for specific purposes.
In our study today, we shall explore the function of the mouth.
The question is: what is the function of the mouth?

i. Your mouth is not just a body part; your mouth is a gift from God for your triumph in life.
Luke 21: 15 says,
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
When God said that he would give you a mouth, it means, he would give you a gift for your life’s triumph.

ii. The mouth is not just for eating food; the mouth is also a weapon of war.
The purpose of the mouth is not just for eating food; your mouth is a weapon of war. Luke 21:15 reveals that God gave you mouth that your enemies cannot resist. You use your mouth to fight and stand against the adversaries. Your mouth is a weapon of war.

iii. Your mouth is designed to communicate the wisdom of God.
From Luke 21:15, we also see that God gave you mouth to communicate His Wisdom. God promised you a mouth and wisdom to disarm your adversaries.

Deuteronomy 30:19 says,
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Your mouth or tongue is the tool for the communication of your choices in life. When you are speaking, you are choosing. Whenever you are talking, you are not just making statements; you are making choices.

Make up your mind to use your mouth wisely and effectively for your victory and triumph in life.
Remember this: When God said that he would give you a mouth, it means, he would give you a gift for your life’s triumph.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. See your mouth as God’s gift for your triumph; use your mouth for your victory on earth.

2. Use your mouth to communicate the Wisdom, Excellence and Goodness of God to your generation.

TOPIC: THE PRIVILEGE OF LIFE

SCRIPTURE: Neither is worshipped with men's , as though
anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
ACTS 17:26

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The best way to handle the privilege of life is to use it to fulfil the purpose for which God gave it to you.

It has been established that life is a privilege. It is a privilege because no one woke up in the morning because of the force of their decision to wake up. There were people who slept and could not wake up the following morning. Before they slept, there was no trace of sickness in their body. They slept in health, but woke up in death.

So, life is a privilege. No one is alive because they are too powerful, too wise or too talented to die. No one can be so connected to people that their connections kept them alive.

This means, for every single second we live, we must see life as a privilege, and not a right.
I heard the story of one American president, Theodore Roosevelt. This man was very tough, aggressive, and audacious. He was a man given to adventure; a man who could fight anything.
One day, he slept and died in his sleep. And someone wrote about him and said, “Only in sleep could he have died because if he was awake, he would have fought with death.”
You see, this man was very powerful, but not too powerful to bow for death.

Beloved, life is a privilege; do not abuse the privilege of life. God gave your life to you on trust, and he expects you to maximize it. The best way to handle the privilege of life is to use it to fulfil the purpose for which God gave it to you.

Beloved, don’t live as though your life is a product of your personal merit. See your life as a privilege, and never abuse the privilege of life.

Remember this: The best way to handle the privilege of life is to use it to fulfil the purpose for which God gave it to you.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Thank God for the privilege of life.

2. Do not abuse the privilege of life; determine to fulfil God’s Purpose for your life.

THURSDAY 11 JULY 2024.

TOPIC: POSSESSING YOUR INHERITANCE BY A FIGHTING SPIRIT

SCRIPTURE: And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
MATTHEW 11:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It takes a fighting spirit to change your situation and enlarge your capacity.

Jacob was a patriarch in Scripture who walked with God. He lived such an exemplary life that made him a good example to follow. He knew the God of his grandfather, Abraham and of his father, Isaac. He also inherited the Blessing of Abraham.

Now, one secret of Jacob was a fighting spirit. Jacob was a fighter per excellence. He was the second child of Isaac after Esau. At a point in his life, he realized that his future was bleak because the Abrahamic covenant blessing on his father, Isaac, was going to be passed on to Esau. This realization made him fight his way into possessing the Blessing.

He sat down and thought, “I cannot watch and be rendered useless in this family.” Along the line, he observed how careless and profane his brother, Esau, was. So, he went ahead and negotiated with Esau and “fightfully” took the birth-right. After that, he went for the Blessing, and took it.
Thus, Jacob got the Covenant Blessing through the engagement of a fighting Spirit.

It did not stop there; 21 years later, he wrestled with an angel for a change of identity.
The angel told him, “Let me go, for the day breaketh”
But he said, “I can’t let you go, unless you bless me. I don’t know when I will see you again. Let us fight it out now.” (Paraphrased).

So, he fought with the angel and his name was changed from Jacob to Israel. Jacob is a person, but Israel is a nation. God seemed to have told him, “You are no more a person; you are now a nation.”

Beloved, if you are willing to fight in the realm of the spirit, God will change your story and identity. It takes a fighting spirit to change your situation and enlarge your capacity.

Remember this: It takes a fighting spirit to change your situation and enlarge your capacity.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Like Jacob, make up your mind to engage the fighting spirit to possess your God-given inheritance.

2. Persist with God until your change comes.

TOPIC: CONFRONTING EVIL WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS

SCRIPTURE: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. And what is the lion?
PROVERBS 28:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Godly character imparts audacity and boldness.

Many years ago, I went to one of the states in Nigeria to preach.
An elderly judge came to see me. He told me that he was presiding over a case; it was a case of homicide. The killer or the accused was obviously guilty as charged. This judge was, therefore, pressing the case to charge the guilty person.

The defendant had tried to induce him in order to influence the judgement, but he refused. So, the defendant and his people went diabolical against the judge.

Beloved, this is why everyone in civil or public service needs the fire and protection of God.
The judge said that whenever he went to court and that particular case was called, his hands would start vibrating and he would start shaking.

So, he came to me and said, “Pastor, I need prayer. I want you to pray for me because I have been a judge for almost thirty years. And if I have taken one naira as bribe to influence any case, let their evil work of diabolism prevail against me. But if I have not taken a dime as bribe to influence any case in the course of my entire career, then they would fail.”

That was the audacity or the boldness of positive character. Godly character imparts audacity and boldness. It empowers you to confront every evil and devil working against your life.
When you are upright, you can be bold enough to deal with witches and wizards, and all of the forces of darkness.

Please understand that guilt punctures confidence.

Beloved, receive the grace to maintain godly character that can give you such audacity in the name of Jesus Christ.

Remember this: Godly character imparts audacity and boldness.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Maintain upright character as a weapon to confront the ills and evil of the society.

2. Refuse to deflate your audacity and authority by the lifestyle of iniquity.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to confront the evil of this generation by the lifestyle and garment of purity. Help me never to be involved in anything that will deflate my audacity and confidence, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

*TOPIC: DON’T TRADE YOUR DESTINY FOR EVIL TREASURES*

SCRIPTURE: Thou shalt not bring the hire of a w***e, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abominations unto the Lord thy God. DEUTERONOMY 23:18.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: All possessions acquired with evil money are nothing but evil treasures.

In our world today, many people trade their lives and destinies for evil treasures.

For example, there are people who drive evil cars, dress in unrighteous cloths, live in ungodly houses. This is because the money that was used to buy those cars, cloths and houses were proceeds of evil practices. All possessions acquired with evil money are nothing but evil treasures.

You see, someone who is dressed with cloths purchased with evil money may look handsome or beautiful outwardly, but they will feel ugly inside and appear repulsive to God. This is because they are putting on a cloth bought with proceeds of prostitution or other sinful practices.

Deuteronomy 23:18 says,
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a w***e, or the price of a dog, into the house of the Lord thy God for any vow: for even both these are abominations unto the Lord thy God.

A dog figuratively represents the spirit of immorality.
Leviticus 19:29 also says:
Do not pr******te thy daughter, to cause her to be a w***e; lest the land fall to w***edom, and the land become full of wickedness.

Apart from proceeds of prostitution or fornication, other examples of evil money are proceeds of the sale of alcohol, to***co, dangerous drugs and other harmful substances whose consumption lead to people’s destruction.

When a person markets or sells products like Co***ne, He**in, L*D (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide-a synthetic crystalline compound which is a powerful hallucinogenic drug), Indian h**p or Ma*****na, Dry Gin, Lager beer etc, that destroy people’s lives, the proceeds from such products is evil money.

Remember this: All possessions acquired with evil money are nothing but evil treasures.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Refuse to acquire possessions or wealth by evil or sinful means
2. If there are properties you have gotten in the past through evil means, repent and do away with such properties.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace never to acquire properties via unrighteous means. I receive the grace to renounce any ungodly lifestyle and do away with any properties acquired through ungodly means, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: VISION – A SECRET OF MOTION

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
HABAKKUK 2:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Vision is what determines motion.

It is a known fact that God has a plan for your life. And the plan of God for your life supersedes your own plan. It doesn’t matter how colourful your plans are, they can never be as wonderful as the plan of God for your life.
When you understand this, you ask God to reveal to you, His plan for your life.

The greatest question everyone should ask God is the question Paul the apostle asked on his way to Damascus. He asked God, “Lord, what will you have me do?” Act 9:6.
He seemed to have asked God, “O LORD, what do you want me do with my life? Where do you want me to spend my life? In what area do you want me to deploy my energy, talent and gifting.”

Beloved, when you discover the plan of God for your life, make that plan your picture; make the plan your vision, because vision is what determines motion.

Habakkuk 2:1 says,
And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
The vision of your life gives you motion and acceleration in life’s endeavours.

Please take note of this: what you picture determines what you capture. What you picture determines how you venture. What you picture also determines where you feature. What occupies your mind determines where you will occupy in life. What you visualize determines what you will realize.
What flows through your imagination consistently determines what will emerge in your life. Once the heart is empty, life is empty.
Once the mind is empty, life is empty. A blank mind is an empty life.

Beloved, refuse to be stagnant in life. Discover God’s Purpose for your life and make it your vision. Your vision will handle stagnation and make you run with speed in all your life’s endeavours.

Remember this: Vision is what determines motion.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Refuse to live without vision.

2. Write your life’s vision and make it plain so you can run with it.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace for motion and acceleration in life as I align myself with your vision for my life. Deliver me from the spell of stagnation, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

*TOPIC: THE POWER OF WORDS*

SCRIPTURE: As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: NUMBERS 14:28.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Battles are started by words; they can also be ended by words.

It is important to note that the mouth, the tongue and words play very critical roles in the life and destiny of every child of God. The mouth, the tongue and words make the difference between dominating or being dominated, conquering or been conquered in life.

This is because words carry power. Battles are started by words; they can also be ended by words. For example, Adolf Hi**er set the world on fire by the inflammable words that came out of his mouth. Relationships are started by words, and relationships can also be ended by words. Marriages are formalised and established on the altar by the exchange of words. Medical practitioners are inducted into the medical practice by the pronouncement of words.

Blessings are pronounced, and curses are incurred by words.

So, it is important to know that words carry power.
There are many Scriptures that show us the power of Word.

Numbers 14:28 says: As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:
Your confession is your prescription for your destination. Whatever you want God to do with your life is what you should say with your mouth. Anytime you speak, you are prescribing what should be done in your life.

What is my counsel to you? Refuse to talk carelessly. Do not bring misfortune to your life by your word. Don’t play with your words. Don’t cause problems for yourself or other people with your words.

Beloved, let your word be seasoned with salt.

Remember this: Battles are started by words; they can also be ended by words.

2. Talk only the Word of God. Confess your revelation, not your situation.

DATE: FRIDAY 05 JULY 2024.

*TOPIC: THE TRANS-GENERATIONAL BLESSING*

*SCRIPTURE:* _Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever._ PSALM 112:1-3

*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:* The Blessing of God is not ‘finish-able’ in one or three generations.

The Scripture reveals that the Blessing of God is trans-generational. It comes with supernatural supplies that have generational perpetuation.

For example, God blessed Abraham, and that blessing flowed to Isaac; and from Isaac, it flowed to Jacob; and from Jacob, it flowed to Joseph; and from Joseph, it flowed to the children of Israel. The Blessing of God is not ‘finish-able’ in one or three generations.

Psalm 112:1-3 says: Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
The Blessing of God is a generational matter.

You see, if you are truly blessed, and if Jesus tarries to come, in the next one hundred years, people would see someone from your lineage that would manifest a dimension of blessing that is traceable to your blessing.

Some time ago, we were passing through New York, USA, and someone showed us some blocks of Towers. The person who showed us the towers said, “This great wealth you see is small compared to the wealth of John D. Rockefeller.”

John D. Rockefeller has died almost a hundred years ago, but his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have not been able to finish his wealth.
John D. Rockefeller started paying tithe from the day he got the first dollar, and he tithed till the end of his life. His wealth, in today’s value would be about 670 billion US dollars. He was the first dollar billionaire in history worldwide. The size of his wealth is ten times the wealth of Bill Gates.
John D. Rockefeller was an elder in his church.

Beloved, I decree that the generational blessing of God is your portion, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: SAY ‘NO’ TO BITTERNESS

SCRIPTURE: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
HEBREW 12:15

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Presence of God cannot be with a bitter person.

Sometime ago, I came across a story of a young man who was abandoned by his mother in his father’s house when he was a little baby. His mother left him and married another man, and never cared to ask of how he was faring till he became an adult.

Consequently, he grew up with bitterness against his mother. The negligence, the lack of love and care exhibited by his mother towards him made him bitter and unforgiving towards her. The first time he saw his mother, he cried bitterly saying, “You gave birth to me and left me. You never asked of me.”
He continued in that state of bitterness for a long time until one day when he heard a message on forgiveness. After listening to the message, he decided to forgive his mother.
After forgiving his mother, he said he felt the Presence and Peace of God for the first time in his entire life.

Beloved, can you see that forgiveness attracts God’s Presence to a person? One reason why God is far from many people is because of bitterness and unforgiveness. The Presence of God cannot be with a bitter person. If you see anyone who is bitter against his neighbour, God is never with such a person. No matter how he claims to pray, God is not found in him.

This explains why though some people pray fervently all the time, you cannot perceive God around them. They can pray and fast for many days but their situations remain unchanged because the Presence of God is not with them. Bitterness has driven away the Presence of God from their lives.

Beloved, endeavor to forgive others so God can be attracted to you.
Remember this: The Presence of God cannot be with a bitter person.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Make up your mind never to drive God’s Presence away from your life through bitterness.

2. Ask God for the grace to forgive people who offend you.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to forgive all offences and offenders. Help me never to harbour bitterness and unforgiveness in my heart, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

The flesh is the centre of inordinate desires. Following the desires, passion and leadership of the flesh is a major cause of character failure. To follow the leadership of the flesh is to step out of character. When you do all that your flesh wants you to do, you lose godly character.

Genesis 3:6 says: And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

The point is, the decision to gratify the cravings of the senses is a pathway to character failure.
For example, your eyes may see a flashy car; you know you don’t have the money to buy it yet, but you want to have it by all means. When you decide to gratify all the cravings of your flesh, you will fall out of character.

Following uncontrolled and unbridled passion makes you devoid of character. When a person yields to the craving for drinking alcohol, indulging in prohibited drugs, womanizing or engaging in prostitution, such a person will be rendered character bankrupt in no time.

Beloved, if you yield to all the cravings of your flesh, you will fall short of godly character. That was the tragedy of Eve. She fell into sin when she saw that the fruit was good for food. She fell out of character when she yielded to the gratification of her flesh.

The lesson here is, don’t be like Eve. Refuse to allow the cravings of your flesh make you lose your godly character.

Remember this: If you yield to all the cravings of your flesh, you fall short of godly character.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Avoid the temptation to yield to the cravings and desires of the flesh.

2. Make up your mind to put your flesh to death always so you can have a buoyant and victorious spiritual life.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to put my fleshly desires and cravings to death always. Help me to live a crucified life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: DON’T TOUCH THE GLORY OF GOD

SCRIPTURE: I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. ISAIAH 42:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you get addicted to the applause of men, God becomes uncomfortable in giving you more results in life.

I welcome you to the Month of July, the seventh month in our year of Above-Only Existence.
The number 7 is the number for rest. Just as God rested on the seventh day, in this seventh month, He shall give you rest on all sides, in Jesus’ Name.

One reason why many people are stagnated in life is because they were not able to handle the applause that came with the little results they had achieved. When you get addicted to the applause of men, God becomes uncomfortable in giving you more results in life. God withdraws Himself from people when they begin to touch His Glory and attribute to themselves what God did by Himself.

One day, I went on a fast to seek the Face of God in prayer regarding the situations of people. There were many people in church in diverse pathetic conditions trusting God for divine interventions.
In the course of the prayer, I told God, “O LORD, empower me. I don’t want to see people in trouble and be helpless. Lord, please help me to help your people.”
And I continued the prayer and fasting for about seven days without food and water.
Concerning fasting, the counsel I always give is that if you are fasting beyond three days, please drink water liberally.
So, on the third day of the prayer, God said to me, “What you are asking me to do is not hard for me to do, but can you defend my glory? I am not looking for anyone to share my glory with; my glory will I share with no man. I don’t want you to touch it, and I don’t want anyone to touch it anywhere you are.”
That word changed my life!
And I said, “Lord, I will never touch your Glory. Please try me, and I will return all the Glory to you”
This is one reason why many people remain where they are. If God should shift them further, they would seek to be worshipped as God.

Beloved, please refuse to touch the Glory of God.

Remember this: When you get addicted to the applause of men, God becomes uncomfortable in giving you more results in life.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Always give all the glory to God in all you do.
2. See yourself as a privileged channel of God’s use and do not touch the glory of God.
3. Look away from the applause of men; never allow it enter your head.

PRAYER: Lord, I resolve today never to touch or take Your Glory. I decide to return all the glory to You for all Your works in and through my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
