A few years ago, I remember trying something I really believed in — and failing miserably. I put in the effort, I gave it my all, yet the result wasn’t what I expected. At that point, I thought maybe I wasn’t good enough, maybe I wasn’t meant to succeed. But here’s the twist: that failure became my greatest teacher. It forced me to look deeper, to sharpen my skills, to build patience, and to push through when quitting felt easier.

What I once called a “loss” turned out to be preparation for the victory that came later. When the opportunity showed up again, I was ready — stronger, wiser, and more confident. That’s when I understood: growth doesn’t happen in comfort, it happens in struggle.

Your setbacks are not the end of the story; they are the rough drafts before the masterpiece. Every rejection, every delay, every disappointment is shaping you for the success you prayed for. Don’t measure yourself only by where you are right now — measure yourself by how far you’ve come and how much further you’re willing to go.

Growth takes time. Flowers don’t bloom overnight, trees don’t grow in a day, and champions aren’t made without battles. So if life feels heavy right now, remember: the weight you’re carrying is building the strength you’ll need for your breakthrough.

Keep moving. Keep believing. Keep growing. One day, your story of failure will become the very testimony that inspires someone else not to give up.

1. Understand the Client First

Research the client’s business, audience, and style preferences.

Know their industry trends to speak their language.

2. Present Yourself Professionally

Have a clean portfolio ready — digital or printed.

Use a clear introduction explaining who you are and what you do.

3. Ask the Right Questions

Understand their goals: What do they want to achieve with the design?

Clarify deadlines, target audience, and brand guidelines.

Ask about budget expectations early to avoid misunderstandings.

4. Communicate Value, Not Just Skills

Focus on how your work solves their problems (e.g., brand visibility, engagement).

Share examples of successful projects and their outcomes.

5. Be Clear About Your Process

Briefly explain your workflow: brainstorming, drafts, revisions, and delivery.

Set realistic timelines for each stage.

6. Discuss Pricing Upfront

Offer clear, itemized quotes or packages.

Avoid underselling your work — know your worth.

7. Build Trust

Be transparent about what you can and can’t do.

Show reliability by responding promptly and professionally.

8. Listen Actively

Let the client explain their needs fully before suggesting ideas.

Take notes to show you value their input.

9. Offer Creative Insights

Suggest ideas that align with their vision but also add value.

Position yourself as a problem-solver, not just a service provider.

10. Follow Up

Send a thank-you message or email summarizing the discussion.
