Stone pitching is a construction technique used to create a durable and stable surface or structure, typically in outdoor settings. It involves placing stones, often of varying sizes, in a deliberate pattern to form a solid surface or retaining wall. Stone pitching is commonly used in landscaping, road construction, and erosion control to prevent soil erosion and provide stability. The stones are usually laid with care to interlock and provide structural integrity. This technique has been employed for centuries and is known for its resilience and natural aesthetic appeal.

About the cracking in road pavement?
Road pavement can crack due to several factors, including:
1. Weather Conditions: Freeze-thaw cycles cause expansion and contraction, leading to cracks.
2. Traffic Load: Heavy traffic, especially from large trucks, can cause stress and eventual cracking.
3. Poor Construction: Inadequate materials or improper construction techniques can lead to early deterioration.
4. Water Damage: Water can seep into the pavement, weakening it and causing cracks.
5. Subgrade Issues: Poor soil conditions or improper preparation of the subgrade can result in uneven settling and cracking.
6. Aging: Over time, asphalt and concrete can become brittle and crack due to natural aging processes.
7. Temperature Fluctuations: Extreme heat can cause expansion and softening, while cold can lead to contraction and brittleness.
Regular maintenance and proper construction practices can help mitigate these issues.
