READMANIA: AKWA IBOMITES SET NEW TEMPLATE FOR INTELLECTUAL TOURISM
As the official attempt to break Guinness World Records for longest marathon reading aloud intensifies, Akwa Ibomites have risen to set a new template for intellectual tourism in the state while supporting John Obot, the marathoner who is aiming to set a new record.
At the ongoing reading aloud event in Uyo, codenamed 'Readmania', various groups and individuals in Akwa Ibom State have committed to lead a new era of development that is significantly driven by what they describe as 'intellectual tourism' which in the long run is expected to boost literacy and reading culture.
While commending the marathoner, groups and individuals in their separate statements, expressed happiness on the Guinness World Records attempt, holding that it has stirred up a progressive literary revolution in Akwa Ibom State, a development that is hoped to be sustained.
The Readmania project which has Uyo Book Club and Watbridge Hotels as lead partners, has had prominent visitors and supporters showing up to identify with the marathoner and encouraging him.
The Founder of Uyo Book Club Dr Udeme Nana who is also the Chief Programme Director of the Readmania project, told the press that the marathon reading aloud record breaking attempt is a grand call to reawake book culture and promote education related initiatives.

THE 100 HOURS TO HISTORY
Just like yesterday, the marathon that began with one small second, minute and hour, has drifted steadily towards the finish line. The 100th hour landmark has beckoned at exactly 05:00PM on Saturday September 16.
Aiming to make history by breaking and setting a new record, John Obot remains unshaken on his road to 145 t marathon reading aloud.
Impossible is nothing.

THE FARTHER WE GO, THE STRONGER WE BECOME
The Guinness World Records official attempt by John Obot is becoming more interesting.
As the hours tick bigger, the marathoner turns the marathon to a thriller.
Reading 'Obstacle is the Way' by Ryan Holiday, John Obot turns his reading to a lecture, infusing it with real-life scenarios. For instance, when discussing how to anticipate failure, he advises, 'Let's all be adults here.
A determined John who's fixated on the record goal elaborated how human can failure and life experiences.
"For instance, I hope we're all adults in this place. As a guy, before you go to toast a girls, like when I did mine, it's better you do so, expecting a NO answer. So, that when she tells you NO, it doesn't hit you by surprise", John said.
In spite of the challenges, John Obot who had earlier lost over 50hours, smashed 70hours today about 11am.
This is the CAN DO spirit of John Obot.
Impossibility is nothing.
