Report on the ASPIRE 2016

ASPIRE was a hit back to back!
Earlier today the student Union pulled another stunt by organizing a special freshers reception tagged ASPIRE.

This event had in attendance thousands of students who where addressed by several keynote speakers including the students Union president Comr Kufre Samuel Okon.

Several issues affecting students were discussed by various resource persons. One of the major address was was on branding Uniuyo and projecting it positively, and this was done by the S. A to the president on Branding and Social Reorientation.

The president in turn before leaving his keynote address took out time to educate the students Union Dakkada Creed which charged the students to rise to innovative thinking and active intellectualism, and also to believe that they can achieve whatever they want to achieve.

The president delivered his keynote address on the key to academic excellence in the 21st century,a case study in the University of Uyo. He urged the students to always be diligent in their academic pursuit. He quoted and rephrased the scripture book of Joshua, "choose ye this day what you'll leave University of Uyo with", he sinked in the Nigerian students positive aspirations.

The president for his love towards academic excellence launched a free tutorial classes for year one general courses of which he choosed the venue to be Bank PHB Room 5.

He also launched a monthly essay competition with a cash prize of #10,000.with a topic that says "Analyse Critically, the effect of a growing rate of youth participation in networking business on the future of Nigerian economy" .

The Students were issued opportunity to interact with the president and several questions from the students were thrown to the president and the president in turn offered appropriate response to them.

The president moved on to the Faculty of Business Administration Health Conference, where he delivered another keynote address.

In conclusion, the exercise was a success as the aim of the ASPIRE was achieved.
