SELF- AFFIRMATION PLEDGE

for this coming month of April

* I am not defective. I am different.

* I will not sacrifice my self worth for peer acceptance.

* I am a good and interesting person.

* I will take pride in myself.

* I am capable of getting along with society.

* I will ask for help when I need it.

* I am a person who is worthy of others' respect and acceptance.

* I will find a career interest that is well suited to my abilities and interests.

* I will be patient with those who need time to understand me.

* I am never going to give up on myself.

*I will accept myself for who I am.

IDENTIFYING KIDS:

" If they have trouble joining or staying in social interactions, it may be a sign of Aspergers."

SOCIAL COMMUNICATION IMPAIREMENTS is a hallmark of Aspergers.

In adolescence and into adulthood, social rules become intensely important, almost entirely implied and fiercely subtle. Asperger's may 'get worse' in adolescence because it becomes a serious disadvantage to have a social deficit at this most socially conscious time of life.

" Children with Aspergers Syndrome work twice as hard at school as their peers as they are learning both the academic curriculum and have difficulty in socializing."

HOW?

" They have difficulty understanding the thoughts, feelings and intentions of others which can make the behavior of other people appear illogical and confusing."

But then again this challenge is necessarily accepted; this challenge gives birth to key strengths.

" Autism can be likened to an umbrella. Within the boundaries of this umbrella is a wide range of abilities and disabilities, one of which is Aspergers."

The Puzzle Peace Society seeks to create an environment where children on the Autism Spectrum can compete and thrive.

The cure of Autism is solitude... it's nature.
Nature is an autism- friendly environment.

( A poem about Acceptance)

Once upon a time
There lived a CIRCLE in triangle-square

Perhaps from another planet it came,
and will eternally lose the game.

But in triangle-square this CIRCLE steered
many hearts to the city of difference.

Circle: signifies a person on the Autism Spectrum.
Triangle-square: signifies the world as it is.
