LOVE, A FEELING?

Is love just a feeling or is there more to love than just a feeling?
Let’s look at it together, shall we?

When LOVE is mentioned it is commonly defended as an unpredicted, overwhelming and uncontrollable feeling and we tend to say things like “I fell in love” or “I don’t feel it anymore” as though love happens to us and not through us. But looking at it that definition collapses the moment love is tested by time, conflict or responsibility.

So let’s ask the harder question:

If love is only a feeling, why does Scripture command it?
And why do relationships collapse the moment feelings change?

The society has taught us that

love should feel effortless

love should always be exciting

love should never hurt

love should leave when it stops feeling good

This framework trains people to be emotionally driven but commitment-deficient. And The results? You tell me about it. Relationships that are intense at the start and empty at the first inconvenience.

Now let’s speak the truth which is uncomfortable but necessary:

Anything powered only by emotion will collapse under pressure.

And that includes Love.

Let’s look at the Biblical sightings

The Scripture never defines love as a feeling.
It defines love as behavior.

“Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast…”
1 Corinthians 13:4–7

Do we notice that “Love is a feeling” is missing?

Instead, love is described by what it does, how it responds, and what it restrains. Patience is not a feeling. Kindness is not a mood. Self-control is not emotional.

Therefore we say love is not reactive, it is regulated.

Now Jesus didn’t say, “Love when it feels natural.”
He said, “Love your neighbor… love your enemy.” Even when it inconvenient.

You cannot obey that command emotionally.
You can only obey it deliberately.

Real love operates like a system, not a spark.

It plans:

how conflict will be handled

how communication will remain honest

how loyalty will be preserved under pressure

how growth will be prioritized over comfort

Love asks questions feelings never ask:

What protects this relationship long-term?

What response builds trust, not just relief?

What choice reflects maturity, not impulse?

Feelings ask, “How do I feel right now?”
Love asks, “What is right to do?”

Now when it comes to RELATIONSHIPS:

Every relationship experiences emotional shifts. This is not a failure, it is biology and life.

What determines success is not emotional consistency, but relational discipline.

Healthy love:

communicates even when misunderstood

stays accountable even when tempted

apologizes without justifying wrongdoing

remains present even when affection dips

If your relationship only works when emotions are high, it is not love, it is chemistry.

Chemistry fades.
Character sustains.

Many People Don’t Want Love, They Want Validation. Ask me how?

Many people say they want love, but what they truly want is:

to be chosen without changing

to be affirmed without accountability

to be desired without responsibility

Love threatens selfishness because love demands growth.

That’s why commitment scares people more than loneliness.
That’s why loyalty feels heavy to the undisciplined heart.
That’s why feelings are preferred because feelings make no demands.

But love does.

To love someone is to accept responsibility for how you treat them, it’s not control, but care.

This means:

your words should carry weight

your silence should communicate

your actions reflects safety or fear

Love does not excuse harm with emotion.
“I was angry” explains behavior.
“I love you” requires ownership.

The highest form of love is not passion.
It is consistency.

Not intensity, but integrity.
Not excitement, but endurance.

Love is what remains after:

The attraction settles

All flaws emerge

When seasons change

And when reality interrupts fantasy

And you still choose right action.

Conclusion

Yes, love includes feelings.
But love is not ruled by them.

Feelings ignite love.
Decisions sustain it.
Discipline protects it.
Faith defines it.

If love were only a feeling, it would never last.
The fact that it does when rightly practiced, proves this final truth:

Love is not what you feel.
Love is what you repeatedly choose, especially when you don’t feel like it.

BLANK CHEQUE

A blank cheque is a unique financial tool that holds significant power and responsibility. In its simplest form, it is a cheque that is signed but does not specify an amount, leaving the recipient free to fill in the sum. This concept of a blank cheque goes beyond just a piece of paper, symbolizing trust, confidence, and limitless potential. Let's explore the benefits of a blank cheque, both in financial terms and from a biblical perspective.

1. Financial Flexibility

One of the main benefits of a blank cheque is flexibility. By signing a cheque without specifying an amount, the issuer demonstrates trust in the recipient’s ability to use it responsibly. This allows the recipient to have the necessary financial freedom to cover variable costs or make important purchases when needed. It eliminates the need for back-and-forth communications over finances, speeding up transactions and decision-making processes.

In business contexts, a blank cheque can facilitate urgent or unforeseen expenditures, allowing a company or individual to act quickly without delays caused by financial approvals. It can also be used in legal or corporate settings, such as mergers or acquisitions, where final amounts are uncertain until agreements are finalized.

2. Trust and Responsibility

At the core of issuing a blank cheque is trust. The giver of the cheque trusts the recipient to make wise and just decisions. In the same way, the recipient is entrusted with the responsibility of using the cheque prudently. This mutual relationship reflects a key principle in the Bible: stewardship.

In Luke 16:10 (NIV), Jesus said, "Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much." The blank cheque is a profound metaphor for this truth: those entrusted with it must show integrity in handling the resources given to them.

3. A Symbol of Divine Provision

In a spiritual context, the concept of a blank cheque can also be viewed as a symbol of God's provision. Just as a blank cheque offers unlimited potential for financial use, God’s promises provide us with unlimited potential for blessings, guidance, and protection. God's love and grace are often compared to a blank cheque, where the recipient has the opportunity to access boundless provision.

In Philippians 4:19 (NIV), we are reminded that "God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." This passage reflects the idea that God's resources are infinite and freely available to those who seek His provision. We need not worry about limitations when we trust in God's promises.

4. Faith and Surrender

Issuing a blank cheque requires an act of faith. Whether it’s from a financial perspective or a spiritual one, you are essentially surrendering control over specific details and placing your trust in the recipient. In the Christian faith, this is akin to surrendering one’s life to God, allowing Him to guide and direct your steps, knowing that His plans are far greater than ours.

In Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV), we read: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." This passage encourages believers to give God the "blank cheque" of their lives, trusting Him to fill in the details in the best possible way.

5. Investment in the Future

A blank cheque can also represent an investment in the future. By issuing a blank cheque, you are demonstrating faith in future outcomes, whether in a business transaction or personal decision. The giver expects that the investment will yield positive results, even if they are uncertain of the exact cost.

This aligns with Hebrews 11:1 (NIV), which states, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Just as a blank cheque signifies confidence in an unseen outcome, faith in God means trusting in His plans, even when the full picture is not visible to us.

Conclusion

A blank cheque, while a powerful financial tool, is also a profound symbol of trust, responsibility, and faith. Whether in our business dealings or our spiritual walk, issuing and receiving a blank cheque requires careful thought, integrity, and confidence in future outcomes.

Scripture reminds us that trusting in God is like giving Him the blank cheque of our lives, knowing that He will meet our needs and guide us to greater things. Just as we trust responsible recipients to handle a blank cheque wisely, we must place our faith in God's provision and His plans for our future.

In both financial matters and spiritual journeys, a blank cheque holds the promise of limitless potential, guided by trust and faith in responsible hands.

SIGHT, NO VISION

In the bustling streets of a metropolitan city, amidst the honking horns and hurried footsteps, there lived a man named John. John had perfect eyesight. His vision was sharp, and he could see the world in all its vibrant colors. However, despite his impeccable sight, John lacked something crucial, “a vision for his life”.

John's days passed in a blur of routine and monotony. He woke up each morning, dragged himself to work, completed his tasks mechanically, and returned home exhausted. There was no spark in his eyes, no sense of purpose driving him forward. He merely existed, going through the motions without any clear direction or aspiration.

One day, as John sat alone in his small apartment, he stumbled upon an old journal tucked away in a forgotten corner. Flipping through its pages, he stumbled upon a passage he had written years ago, a list of dreams, goals, and aspirations he had once harbored. Reading those words ignited a flicker of something within him, a desire for more than mere existence, a longing for purpose and fulfillment.

That moment sparked a transformation in John. He began to envision a future that transcended the confines of his current reality. He set ambitious goals for himself, mapped out a plan to achieve them, and took deliberate steps towards realizing his dreams. With a newfound sense of purpose driving him forward, John's life transformed from one of aimless wandering to one of focused determination.

John's story serves as a poignant reminder of the stark difference between sight and vision. While sight allows us to perceive the world around us, vision empowers us to see beyond the present moment—to imagine possibilities, set goals, and chart a course towards a brighter future. Without vision, we risk drifting through life without a sense of purpose or direction, merely reacting to the circumstances that surround us.

The consequences of lacking vision can manifest in various aspects of our lives. Professionally, individuals without a clear vision may find themselves stuck in unfulfilling jobs, unable to tap into their full potential or pursue their passions. Personally, they may struggle to cultivate meaningful relationships or find fulfillment in their pursuits. Without a vision to guide them, they may succumb to inertia, settling for mediocrity instead of striving for excellence.

On the other hand, embracing a vision can unlock a world of possibilities. A clear vision provides us with a roadmap for success, guiding our decisions and actions towards the achievement of our goals. It ignites passion and enthusiasm, infusing our lives with a sense of purpose and meaning. With a vision to guide them, individuals can overcome obstacles, push past limitations, and turn their dreams into reality.

Moreover, having a vision not only benefits individuals but also has ripple effects that extend to society as a whole. Visionary leaders inspire others to rally behind a common cause, driving progress and innovation. Visionary thinkers challenge the status quo, envisioning a better world and working tirelessly to bring about positive change. In every field, from science and technology to the arts and humanities, visionaries shape the course of history and leave a lasting impact on future generations.

In conclusion, while sight allows us to see the world around us, vision enables us to see beyond the present moment and imagine a brighter future. Without vision, we risk drifting through life without purpose or direction. Embracing a vision empowers us to set goals, pursue our passions, and create a life of meaning and fulfillment. So let us dare to dream, to envision a world filled with possibilities, and to strive towards a future limited only by the boundaries of our imagination.

THE DIFFERENCE

Everyone should know that people are different with different destinies, lifestyles, moods, temperaments, different perspectives, reasoning abilities, different ways of handling situations, with different manner of approach and different ways of processing information.

Don't expect another person to process information the same way you do, handle a situation the way you would handle it, or expect another person to live your kind of life because that won't be possible, there would always be clashes and that's when you'd know that you've made a mistake by trying to change nature. Just know this and you will live life peacefully, you will also get to discover that some things are just so unnecessary and uncalled for.

LIFE AFTER LIFE (this very moment)

What comes to mind when an after life is being mentioned?

let's take a look.......

Life after life is a concept that has been debated and explored by various cultures and religions throughout history. It refers to the belief that after death, an individual's soul or consciousness continues to exist in another form or plane of existence.

Different cultures and religions have different beliefs about what happens after death. For example, in Hinduism and Buddhism, the concept of reincarnation is central. It is believed that after death, the soul is reborn in a new body, based on its actions and karma in previous lives. This cycle of birth, death, and rebirth continues until the soul achieves enlightenment and merges with the divine.

In Christianity, the belief in life after death is centered around the idea of heaven and hell. It is believed that those who have lived a righteous life will go to heaven, where they will experience eternal bliss in the presence of God. On the other hand, those who have lived a sinful life will go to hell, where they will experience eternal punishment and separation from God.

In Islam, the concept of life after death is also central. It is believed that after death, the soul is separated from the body and enters a temporary state called Barzakh. In this state, the soul awaits the Day of Judgment, when it will be resurrected and held accountable for its actions in life. Based on its deeds, the soul will either go to paradise or hell.

In addition to religious beliefs, there are also various philosophical and metaphysical theories about life after death. Some argue that consciousness continues to exist in a non-physical form, while others believe in the possibility of reincarnation or the existence of an afterlife.

Regardless of one's beliefs, the concept of life after life raises important questions about the nature of existence, the purpose of life, and the significance of one's actions. It provides a framework for considering the consequences of our choices and the potential for personal growth and spiritual development.

Ultimately, the concept of life after life offers a glimpse into the mysteries of the universe and the possibility of a greater reality beyond our physical existence. It invites us to ponder the nature of our own consciousness and the eternal journey of the soul.

Life after life can have a profound impact on a person's social standing and influence. For example, if an individual leaves a positive legacy behind, such as contributions to culture, social justice, or humanitarian work, they may continue to be remembered and revered long after they have passed away. Conversely, if an individual leaves behind a negative legacy, such as causing harm to others or being involved in criminal activity, their reputation may be tarnished and remembered negatively.

In the digital age, life after life becomes more complicated as social memory and reputation are often preserved through online platforms such as social media and search engines. This means that individuals must be cautious about their actions and words, as they may have an impact on their social standing and reputation long after they have passed away. It also means that individuals must actively manage their online presence and be aware of how their digital legacy may affect them and others in the future.

Overall, life after life in the social world is a complex and dynamic phenomenon that involves social memory, reputation, and the changes brought about by the digital age.

The legacy of a life well lived is one that is marked by love, compassion, and kindness. The person who leads such a life makes a positive impact on the world and leaves a lasting impression on the people they encounter. They inspire others to emulate their virtues, and their actions are a source of encouragement and motivation for generations to come.

A life well lived is one that is not driven by personal gain or ambition but dedicated to helping others. It is a life of service and sacrifice, where the needs of others are given priority over one's own. A person who lives such a life is a blessing to their family, friends, community, and society as a whole.

The legacy of a life well lived is also seen in the values that a person upholds. They stand firm in their beliefs and principles and do not sway under pressure. They exemplify the virtues of honesty, integrity, and accountability, and this earns them the respect and admiration of all who know them.

In summary, the legacy of a life well lived is one that leaves a lasting impact on the world and inspires others to follow in footsteps of such a noble life. It is a testament to the fact that we can all make a positive difference in the world by living a life of selflessness, purpose, and meaning.

Living a good life on earth can be measured by the achievements one makes throughout their lifetime. 5. Intellectual and Creative Achievements: Pursuing intellectual and creative endeavors is a valuable achievement in life. Whether it be through writing a book, creating art, composing music, or making scientific discoveries, these accomplishments contribute to the enrichment of human knowledge and culture. Intellectual and creative achievements leave a lasting impact on society, inspiring and enlightening others.

6. Health and Well-being: Achieving and maintaining good health and well-being is a vital accomplishment in life. Taking care of one's physical, mental, and emotional health leads to a higher quality of life, allowing individuals to pursue their goals and dreams. This achievement involves adopting a healthy lifestyle, practicing self-care, and seeking professional help when needed.

However, for skeptics, the concept of life after life may be seen as merely wishful thinking or a coping mechanism for dealing with the fear of death and the unknown. Ultimately, whether or not there is life after life remains a mystery that may never be fully understood.

IN CONCLUSION, the achievements of a good life lived on earth are diverse and subjective. However, personal growth, strong relationships, making a positive impact on society, career success, intellectual and creative accomplishments, and maintaining good health are some of the universally recognized achievements that contribute to a fulfilling and meaningful life. Striving to achieve these goals not only brings personal satisfaction but also leaves a lasting impact on the world, making it a better place for future generations.
