A serving Police officer has been declared missing just as over 20 people were k!lled and several others injured following an attack on Kawel village of Mushere Chiefdom in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday night.

Conflict journalist, Masara Kim, who confirmed the invasion of the community in a post he shared on social media on Monday morning, said the assailants, who were positively identified as Fulani militias numbering over 100, stormed the village at about 10:30pm after residents had retired for the night.

These are Tarok soldiers, and their politicians have done well in helping their people secure employment opportunities not only in the military but across different sectors.💯✅

However, in Bassa, the situation is quite different. Many politicians appear to focus more on personal interests, while many graduates remain unemployed.💔🤦

They have not done enough to help create or secure job opportunities for their people. During the recent Civil Defence recruitment exercise, other local governments reportedly secured many slots, but Bassa had little or nothing to show.💔

Bassa politicians need to do better and prioritize the welfare and future of their people.

They further noted that during Baba Jang administration, the issue of indigene forms never arose, describing his leadership as one that maintained a clear position on matters affecting the identity and rights of the people.🙏

The statement followed Baba Jang opposition to the issuance of indigene certificates to Hausa-Fulani applicants after a court ruling in Jos.

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militia on Wednesday, ambushed and k!lled the traditional ruler of Gwande District in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Saf Samuel Alaket, while on his way back from a traditional council meeting at the council headquarters.

According to eyewitnesses, the bandits ambushed the monarch’s vehicle at about 7.30pm near the boundary between Sha District and Daffo community close to his hometown and opened fire on the vehicle.
