Emakpo Susan Ogheneruonano, a registered nurse and indigene of Isoko South Local
Government Area, Delta State, earned her Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) degree
from the University of Delta State, Abraka. She is a license member of the Nursing and
Midwifery Council of Nigeria, a certified provider of Basic Life Support (BLS) and
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). She began her National Youth Service Corps
(NYSC) journey in August 2024 and was posted to Plateau State, where she served with
distinction.
During her service year, Nurse Susan was not only a committed health worker but also
demonstrated outstanding leadership by serving as the Corps Liaison Officer (CLO) in
Shendam Local Government Area, where she represented corps members and coordinated
welfare matters with diligence and integrity.
Motivated by a passion for public health and community impact, she initiated and executed
several high-impact Community Development Service (CDS) projects, including:
Free Blood Pressure Screening and Counseling for over 1,000 community members at New
Market, Shendam, promoting early detection and prevention of hypertension.
Health Education Sessions on antenatal care, immunization, and exclusive breastfeeding,
reaching over 100 pregnant and nursing mothers across PHC Ward A, Ward B, and PHC
Total, Shendam.
CPR Training for School Staff and donation of First Aid Boxes to Baptist High School
Shendam and Maranatha Grace of God Secondary School, enhancing emergency
preparedness in school environments.
Provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to health workers at three local PHCs,
supporting infection prevention and staff safety.
Construction of a Bus Stop Shelter at New Market, Shendam, providing long-term benefit
to daily commuters and traders.
In recognition of her outstanding service and transformative contributions, Nurse Emakpo
Susan Ogheneruonano received official commendation letters from the Shendam Local
Government Council, Primary Health Centre Shendam B, the Plateau State Traders and
Marketers Association (Shendam L.G.A), the National Union of Road Transport Workers
(Shendam Branch), and Baptist High School Shendam.
