Rig Site Induction: What Every Junior Engineer Must Know Before Stepping on the Rig
This video captures a real-life rig site induction session where an Oil Field Services Manager addresses newly recruited junior engineers in a conference room at the rig site. The session highlights the do’s and don’ts on the rig, the hazardous nature of the oilfield environment, essential personal and rig-bag items, the expected lifestyle on the rig, and the importance of strict adherence to safety procedures. This is a must-watch for every young engineer preparing for field operations in the oil and gas industry.

TORQUE VALUE FOR API AND PREMIUM CONNECTIONS
🏷In ,the term is defined as a measure of the that can cause an object to rotate about an axis.
In this context, we relate the application to Tubular in general (API and PREMIUM Connections). Hence, the Torque Value For API And Premium Connections are the values required to complete a Tubular Make-up during casing operations (Make-up Torque).
Torque values for and connections are determined by the of the different brands.
The question is, how can we know or determine that the torque values given are reached during make-up ❓😕
🎯 : Here, the torque value is set on the , which serve as an indicator for the operator to stop the make-up once the torque value set is reached.
🎯 : Here, the torque values (minimum, optimum and maximum) are set. During the make-up, once the optimum torque is reached, is cut off from the Tong through the , the automatically stop rotating; a make-up is generated in the computer which can either be rejected (if the criteria is not met) or accepted (if the criteria is met).

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN API CONNECTIONS AND PREMIUM CONNECTIONS
✅ does not have metal to metal seals, while connections have metal to metal seals.
✅ are used in low , while are used for , high pressure and effluents .
✅ have single shoulder connections, while most connections have double shoulder for high make up torque.
PS, let's continue with the list in the comment section "The Difference Between API And Premium Connections" .

WHAT IS GROOVED PIPE CONNECTION?
Grooved pipe connection is a newly developed type of steel pipe connection pipe fitting, also called clamp connection, which has many advantages. It makes use of gaskets, nuts and bolts to join pipe fittings.
CATEGORIES OF GROOVED PIPE CONNECTION
Grooved pipe connection can be divided into two broad categories:
✅The pipe fittings that play the role of connection and sealing include grooved rigid couplings, grooved flexible couplings, mechanical tee and groove flanges;
✅The pipe fittings that play the role of connection and transition include elbows, tees, crosses, reducers, end caps, etc.
NOTE: The groove connection fittings that serve as both connections and sealing primarily consist of three parts: a sealing rubber ring, a clamp, and a locking bolt. The rubber sealing ring located on the inner layer is placed on the outside of the connected pipe and fits with the pre-rolled groove, and then a clamp is fastened on the outside of the rubber ring, and then fastened with two bolts.
Hence, Groove connections have very reliable sealing performance due to the unique sealable structure design of the rubber sealing ring and clamp. With the increase of fluid pressure in the pipe, its sealing performance is correspondingly enhanced.

WHAT IS WELDING PIPING CONNECTION?
This is a process where by two (2) faces of pipe edge are fused together by means of heat application.
A complete welded joint can be referred to as weldment. Hence, this is a permanent type of piping connection.
TYPES OF WELDING CONNECTION
✅Butt Weld: A Butt Weld is a circumferential welded joint connection, and the most common type of joint done in the fabrication of welded pipe systems.
✅Lap Welding: A Lap Joint is formed when two metals are connected in an overlapping pattern on top of each other.
✅Fillet Weld: Fillet welded joints such as tee, lap, and corner joints are the most common connection in welded fabrication.
✅Edge weld: Edge welding Joints are normally applied to sheet metal parts that have end edges are placed at a location where a weld must be made to attach to adjacent pieces.
✅Tee weld: Tee welding joints are formed when two members intersect at a 90-degree angle that makes the edges come together in the center of a plate or component.
