Inside Rivers State
Bringing you stories, sights, and voices from Rivers State.
Since 1999, Rivers State has had 5 Governors.
Peter Odili, Orashi - 8 years
Celestine Omehia, Ikwerre - 6 months
Chibuike Amaechi, Ikwerre - 7 years, 6 months
Nyesom Wike, Ikwerre - 8 years
Sim Fubara, Ijaw - 4 years to conclude in 2027
And some Rivers people are supporting the imposition of another Ikwerre man as Governor in 2027.
No justice. No fairness. No equity.
This is where we are today.
Shame to all the Ijaws and Ogonis supporting this.

UPDATE ON TRANS-KALABARI ROAD PROJECT
The Trans-Kalabari Road Project is gradually becoming one of the greatest legacies of the administration of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, as massive construction progress continues across River 1 towards River 2 behind Ignatius Ajuru University at Eagle Cement axis.
What many administrations ignored for decades, Governor Fubara has boldly taken responsibility for, proving beyond doubt that true leadership is about touching lives, connecting communities, and developing every part of the state without discrimination.
Today, both upland and riverine communities are witnessing practical governance driven by the interest of the people. From infrastructure development to human-centered policies, Governor Fubara has continued to show uncommon dedication to the peace, growth, and advancement of Rivers State.
The historic N225 billion Trans-Kalabari Road is not just a project; it is a lifeline, a symbol of inclusion, economic growth, and hope for thousands of people in the riverine communities. This administration has given the Kalabari people and indeed Rivers people a renewed sense of belonging and confidence in government.
History will always remember Governor Siminalayi Fubara as a leader who chose development over division, progress over politics, and the welfare of Rivers people above every other interest.

As Nigerians were still asleep, having a nice night’s rest, Frank Edoho’s ex-wife, Sandra, who couldn’t sleep, decided to finally break the table, just like the way INEC announced the last presidential result at midnight.
Sandra is accusing her ex-husband, Frank Edoho, of alleged domestic violence, hiting her chest that no one can tag her ashawo.
—According to Sandra, she refuses to accept being labeled an unfaithful wife or “ashewo” over the collapse of the marriage, insisting that Frank was allegedly involved with several women during their relationship.
She claimed she had access to his passwords for months and allegedly discovered conversations with different women, including some he reportedly spent time exercising and jogging with while refusing to do the same with her.
Sandra also alleged that she repeatedly found women’s belongings inside a vehicle she personally paid for, but whenever she questioned him, he allegedly dismissed the items as belonging to his manager’s girlfriend.
She accused Frank’s manager, Toyosi Oyetunji, of allegedly bringing different women around him under the excuse that they were “marketers.”
The mother of two further alleged that Frank sold one of her properties at a very low price and secretly recorded her without consent before allegedly leaking the recordings publicly.
Despite all the issues, Sandra said she still defended him during a blackmail scandal involving his private photos after he was allegedly catfished by someone demanding money to keep intimate materials private.
She also accused a married woman identified as Amaka Okeke of becoming excessively close to Frank, attending events with him, and eventually moving into their matrimonial home.
According to Sandra, the woman allegedly kept clothes inside her wardrobe and even slept on her matrimonial bed.
She further claimed that on one occasion, she allegedly caught Frank with suspected call girls who attempted to attack both her and her cousin without realizing she was his wife.
In one of her most serious allegations, Sandra claimed Frank once hit her in the face with a dumbbell and threatened to damage her looks so no other man would find her attractive.
She explained that she eventually decided to walk away from the marriage after he allegedly threatened her life, adding that some of his relatives were also aware of his behavior.
Sandra concluded by saying that as long as she is happy with herself and whoever she chooses to be with, public opinions no longer matter to her.

NASS Passed Bill To Trap Obi But The Law Trapped The Defectors Being Rigged Out In Primaries- Ameh
Peter Ameh, the former National Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), has reacted to the Electoral Bill passed by the National Assembly, claiming that the law has produced consequences different from what its promoters originally intended.
In a statement shared through his official X handle on Monday, May 18, 2026, Ameh alleged that the Electoral Bill was strategically designed to politically corner Peter Obi and limit his political options within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to Ameh, the plan behind the legislation was to weaken Obi’s political influence and restrict his movement ahead of future elections. However, he argued that events have now taken an unexpected turn, as many politicians who abandoned their former parties to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are now facing political setbacks within the same party they defected to.
Ameh claimed that several defectors who joined the APC in search of better political opportunities have allegedly been denied fair chances during the party’s primary elections. He suggested that many of them are now discovering that securing influence within a new political structure is far more difficult than expected.
In his post, the former IPAC chairman accused the APC of actively encouraging politicians from opposition parties to defect, only for some of those politicians to later encounter internal political battles during candidate selection processes.
Expressing his views on the situation, Ameh wrote:
“The National Assembly passed Electoral Bill designed to trap Peter Obi. But guess who the law has now trapped instead? The defectors being rigged out in their new parties’ primaries.”
His remarks have since generated reactions online, with supporters and critics debating the true impact of the Electoral Act on Nigeria’s political landscape. While some social media users agreed with Ameh’s position, arguing that many defectors are now struggling to secure tickets in their new parties, others dismissed the claim and insisted that party primaries are internal matters determined by party structures and political influence.
The comments also come at a time when political realignments and defections continue to shape conversations ahead of future elections in Nigeria. Over the past few months, several politicians from opposition parties have moved to the APC and other major parties, intensifying discussions about loyalty, political survival, and internal democracy within party systems.
Observers believe the debate surrounding the Electoral Bill and party primaries is likely to remain a major issue as preparations for future elections continue across the country.
