Security Officer is a constant and reassuring presence on a company’s premises. A successful Security Officer candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications including:

The ability to work proactively and use intuition when required

Should be very observant and should be able to give a proper detail of people who enter the premise.

Excellent concentration and communication skills

The security officer must remain alert and aware of his surroundings.

An ability to remain patient and calm under pressure, being able to control tactical situations.

Should be a good team member, understanding the concept of teamwork.

Should ensure they welcome each customer that enter the premises.

Take good care of the environment

Make sure the generator is on when needed

Ensure the environment is safe for customers

Clean the outside environment

And other responsibilities that a security personnel should handle

Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing

Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards

Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies

Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances

Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience

Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate

Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
